Yeah, people will point to his "super high %" but the guy is so trash if you just watch him play on both ends. I can def. see why a team who's biggest weakness is a rim protecting big happily released him even though he was great friends with there best player.. That kind of speaks volumes and i'm seeing why the Nets did it.
Kind of sad when we think a guy sitting at the end of the Kings bench would be a clear improvement over him.
If DJ just sat at the end of our bench and was here for pure insurance or spot rest management help i'd get it but starting is kind of pathetic tbh. I'm hoping once Bron returns or even Ariza they give DJ tons of "games off" going forward. They are pretty thin up front and are going to have to either make a tough decision on releasing a guard or making a trade because they clearly need at least one more front court guy pretty badly.
I wouldn't even mind seeing Sekou get some chances with our actual rotation guys in non garbage time minutes here and there. I'm having a hard time seeing it be much worse then playing DJ and at least there's some potential upside there. |

After rewatching the LBJ and Stewart incident, I was amused at De Andre Jordan's defensive stance when Steward was charging towards LBJ. That moment where he bulldozed those coaches people restraining him just to reach to the Lakers side. |

he shouldn't be starting. And we should have tried harder to keep Drummond, if we were just gonna let Gasol stay in Spain.
That said, I wonder who we'd have to package him with to try to get Myles Turner from Indiana. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Yeah, DJ is the last guy you put on Jokic especially in the Playoffs, that's a Nightmare waiting to happen. Once the Playoffs roll around AD will have his big boy pants on so he'll be more likely to guard those guys as well a bit more but other then him I agree Dwight is the big you roll with as he can guard perimeter oriented bigs SUBSTANTIALLY better then DJ can and tbf better then most bigs period really.
I will say DJ has been playing much better the last couple and has at least showed some actual effort consistently throughout the games. Still not a fan of him getting many minutes but it is what it is at this point. |

Why do we think he’s getting so many more minutes and Howard. |

Dunno what Vogel and DJ talked about, but hopefully they talk about it again every game and DJ never plays again. |

Dwight > DJ and it isn't even close. DJ was once a solid rim protector and P/R guy but he has lost a step and has no game to translate to. Dwight has lost a step but still moves his feet well and can be a solid defender. |

We are 9-7 with DAJ starting (5-3 when Bron starts with DAJ).
We are 3-4 without DAJ starting and AD playing the 5 full time.
So far we've been better with DAJ starting (whatever this means for our rotations and how we begin games) than without.
I think we are a better team when DAJ starts. When he's on, you play him. When he's off you go with Dwight. Dwight hasn't been the same Dwight of 2 years ago either. But out bigs are also going to be far more effective if we play defense like yesterday AND if we keep attacking the paint. Dwight had a special game yesterday, after a few games off. Vogel lit a fire in Dwight. I don't expect Dwight to play like that all the time.
If we swing the ball and shoot 3s our DAJ/Dwight combo is useless. If we don't fight through screens, again, useless on D. We need to play as a team. If our perimeter guys stick to their man and fight hard through screens then our bigs with their length and size can really cause havoc on D.
Since we clearly are a different team, with an old school set up, having paint touches via post ups or ball penetration is a must on offense. When we get this, the opposing team moves and adjusts and there is an opening for DAJ to hammer one. We lacked this weapon last year with Gasol. For all the love Gasol got (after first getting a lot of hate) Gasol was a guy that mostly just stood outside. We have bigs this year that will crash the glass and also play above the rim. We need to use them. I don't think Lebron even, has played anywhere near to the IQ he needs (and I expect he will) play with eventually. When we actually play like a team with a purpose to get the ball inside and then create a shot, we're looking very good with having bigs like DAJ/Dwight. |

FYI:

Since taking DeAndre Jordan (5 games) out of the starting lineup, the Lakers are:
9th in Offensive Rating (24th before then)
5th in Defensive Rating (19th before then)
5th in Net Rating (24th before then) |

Not surprised at all, the guy was a lineup killer just like Baze was.. Stats aside it was blatantly obvious watching the games imo at least. Nice to see the stats also showing it though! They both seem like great guys but I don't want to see either of them being part of the regular rotation for the rest of the season.
I will give DJ credit though, he's came in the last few games after essentially being moved to the end of the bench and gave some solid low minute max effort. With Dwight out along with everyone else I get it's pretty necessary for him to sometimes get at least some minutes here and there which I can stomach if he gives some nice all out effort like he has.
Seems like this team is really starting to turn the corner somewhat defensively.. They still have a long ways to go but at least there's some clear progress and we are now starting to see some legitimately really solid defensive lineups which will only expand when we get Ariza back especially. |

Him and Kent need to go. Problem is, the Lakers end up paying more luxury tax if they sign other guys to replace them. I don't know how the numbers shape out, but I wonder what the cost difference is with this route in comparison to just signing Caruso in the first place. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

Warned everyone about this useless jackass in the off-season. It was utterly perplexing to see/read the handful of people defending him. I simply don't understand how anyone could watch him on the Nets not coming away with the conclusion that he's completely useless. Bum ass bench player that even had the nerve to (bleep) to the coach. _________________ KOBE |
