Overdosed on something, apparently. I was into the west v. east thing and Kurupt had some beef with him, so I hated him.
Even so, I'll never forget how shook the MGM Grand arena was when Mike Tyson walked out to this song for his first fight after the Holyfield/ear suspension: _________________ http://chickhearn.ytmnd.com/

Oddly the first thing that came to mind when I read this thread was the movie "Never Die Alone." He's in a vegetative state with lung and brain failure. That sounds dire. He has a history of drug abuse. I hope he somehow makes a recovery. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
I remember seeing DMX on the the Jet Li film Romeo Must Die, and checking out his stuff after that. I hope he pulls through. He’s an excellent rapper who has persona and charisma for days.

DMX, Swaggering but Troubled Rapper, Dies at 50
Quote:
Earl Simmons, the snarling yet soulful rapper known as DMX, who had a string of No. 1 albums in the late 1990s and early 2000s but whose personal struggles eventually rivaled his lyrical prowess, died on Friday in White Plains, N.Y. He was 50.
His family announced the death in a statement. He had been on life support at White Plains Hospital after suffering what his family called “a catastrophic cardiac arrest” a week earlier.
“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end,” the Simmons family said. “He loved his family with all of his heart, and we cherish the times we spent with him.

This is not a surprise. His prognosis was mostly grave. He and Biggie will have a lot to talk about. RIP _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I’m grateful for his family that they don’t have to go through a prolonged period of him being technically alive. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel
RIP. Just read that he had made inroads to becoming sober in the past and wanted to do so for his family, (bleep) drugs and alcohol man. Regardless, all men who take that fight head on are warriors in my book.
unfortunate but he lived hard but fortunately he left a legacy.
Hopefully that includes a legacy for his 15 kids.
To have had that kind of talent and not be able to leave institutional wealth for one's family is a pity - and a sports/entertainment industry cliche. As a black man who is still on the grind every day for my family, I hope to be able to leave my loved ones more than just lessons and memories.
DMX had a hella hard life coming up, so this kind of ending was always a strong possibility. For those who are struggling with addiction or other demons, my prayers are with you even as I ask the Good Lord to let DMX rest in heaven. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
That's the thing about fame & fortune - if you can't keep a level head, you'll think people want you because you're spectacular and lose sight of the fact that what attracts them is that you're spectacularly rich. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
