Only 2 years left on his deal, it's about time for him to start caring again. Good buy-low candidate and a large body to throw against Jokic. Doesn't kill you on the perimeter either. |

Do Blazers fans actually like that haul?
I don't know, I honestly think AD is a 5 and that's a lot of salary to stick at the 5. Unless you think AD and Ayton can play together, but even then you're putting LeBron at the 3.
If you're on the let's rebuild train, not really sure what Ayton does for us |

did you guys realize that 200M OG and 5 FRP Bridges have collectively made ZERO all-star, ZERO all-nba teams? |

Thinking about this...
Guard depth:
Reaves, Russell
Christie, Knecht
Reddish (salary dump)
Forward depth:
LeBron, Vanderbilt, Wood, AD (?)
Prince (can he come back?)
Center depth:
AD, Ayton, Hayes (salary dump), Castleton
Plus #55
Hmmm, so then we're low on forward depth unless we play AD bigger minutes at the 4 |

Why?
No, I don’t think so. |
To much gap, don’t forget we are gonna bring along Max Christie to, someone is gonna need to get moved to give someone else minutes |
I don’t see it happening unless he’s included in a really good deal for a great player. |
Yeah there’ll be enough minutes for Christie/Reaves/Knecht and whatever two PGs we have
The tricky thing now is (particularly if DLo opts in) how are we going to avoid the 2nd apron _________________ #18 next... |

Why are people asking for ayton? He plays no defense and is very lazy player lol, if you thought rui was lazy on defense , just wait till you see ayton. |

Rui is better than him, flat-out. Very, very confident that the Lakers would not consider such a move. |

Clearly they aren't the same type of player, but to me Ayton has really fallen off. Doesn't even get to the FT line anymore, even though he's a center. If he were getting there a few times a game, at least due to the solid FT shooting he could up his efficiency a bit. But Rui spaces the floor better and Ayton is pretty much a nothing defender now. For the money, I'd think that the Lakers wouldn't even consider it. |

Kessler would be a great but dunno if Jazz takes one 1st rounder for him.
JHS and 1st for him would help us alot. |

That's why they decided to cling on Clingan than stay with "DominAyton". |

as CRITICAL as Lakers fans are for players that underperform with 1 bad game after 10 good games. The fact they want Ayton and his contract, whom will have 10 bad games 15 lazy games and 1 good one, is quite interesting. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Well NOW, we NEED to trade for a center at this point.
If DLO opts in, he’s gotta be traded for one. It’s by far the most logical option. _________________ Lakers Offseason Goal:
- Draft Edey or Ware (Another guard)
- Sign Jonas or Claxton (NOBODY)
- sign and trade DLO (nobody wants him LMAO!)
- sign a coach that’s not an idiot (JJ: LeBron Bestie/might be a racist)
Call it an offseason (ROFL) |

Paying Ayton all that money, we would have to commit to playing him atleast 30 minutes a game. That would mean around 45-50% of AD minutes would need to come from the 4. I like the talent upgrade, but don't know if that's a fit. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Yeah someone like a Vuc would still make more sense, you could afford to play him a bit less (say, 24mpg). Plus he’s a floor-spacing big _________________ #18 next... |

Did anyone hear Redick talk about 3 point shooting? Unless Ayton becomes a good 3 point shooter, he's not someone I see the Lakers have any interest in as a starter.
Who do we draft? We draft a guy who apparently can become (if he develops) a bigger Grayson Allen. We're valuing the 3 point shooting.
I can't see us ignore the statements that JJ said and go back to the twin tower model. AD is our 5, Lebron is our 4. I see JJ making a strong case to Lebron that he needs to up his 3 point shots. He's going to design an offense where we see a lot more 3 point shooting. AD will be the hub. What JJ wants from 3 man is someone that hit the corner 3 point shot and then crash the glass. This is the player we either develop Rui into, or trade him for.
Whether this works for us (especially in terms of getting back on defense) remains to be seen. I would shelf any talk about Lakers going for any high priced starting 5.
What we likely look at or should look at. An insurance back up big for AD. Last season was AD's only 2nd real full RS on the Lakers. The 3 other were a lot of injuries and games missed. So if he has a season where he misses 20-30 games, we need a quality 5. If you think Lakers will pay Ayton for that role, ok. I don't believe they would. Boston was willing to pay both Al and Porzingis because they knew Porzingis was an all-star caliber talent but injury prone. We've been going with vet min backups for AD since forever. |

Looking at the lakers payroll right now in regards to 2nd apron.
LeBron 49.4 (max if he opts out)
AD 43.2
DLO 18.7
Rui 17
Reaves 12.9
Gabe 11
Vando 10.7
Wood 3
Lewis 1.9
Christie 3.5 (estimate? hopefully it's not another overpay similar to Rui/THT)
JHS 3.9
Hayes 2.5
Knecht 3.8
Cam 2.5
Total 184
2nd apron 189.5
So we are currently about 5.5M under with basically a full roster assuming DLO opts in. According to Pincus the Lakers are basically treating 2nd apron like a hard cap.
The roster clearly needs a lop sided 4 for 2 type deal to clear roster spots for potential free agents and/or 2nd round draft picks
As is roster
AD/Hayes
LeBron/Wood
Rui/Vando/Cam/Lewis
Reaves/Christie/Knecht
DLO/Vincent/JHS _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |
