This is a game changer for the Lakers, for the first time in decades we have a long term plan
Me too. I'm just excited that we finally have a proven winner with plenty of basketball knowledge lending a voice in the front office. _________________ Los Angeles Lakers 2025 NBA Champions!! Go JJ!

Yeah, the Magic and Rob duo felt like a stop gap at best.
Dan is a real basketball mind that you would HAVE to conform to no matter who you are or what situation you have. This makes me excited that ownership is ready for that type of relationship and to also invest real money in coaching.
Hurley going to think about it over the weekend, I think we will be turned down which will be a tough look. Hopefully JJ accepts even if he’s second choice, imo he’s better hire anyway. Can’t see hyper active college coach working long term in pro game. _________________ Back to Back Yeah, Yeah...and you know that!

Even if (God Forbid) it failed with the Lakers, he would have no problem getting his pick of college jobs anywhere based on his body of work.
I am very excited for all the reasons others have mentioned above about him coming in should it happen. I am not normally big on NBA coaches being needle movers as far as drastic impact but I think this is a guy who you want to be associated with...bottom line is he is ultra-competitive and a winner which is what our franchise has always epitomized. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny
Stephen A Smith actually comparing Ham with Hurley......what a clueless idiot.
he REALLY said "What they are asking Hurley to do. Darvin Ham could have been that for the Lakers."
I am really tired of this narrative of not blaming the Coaches unless they feel it's a story they can exploit. NOT based on anything statistical or any of the reports of the things Ham blatantly ignored.
They don't have anyone that actually looks at the analytics outside of a surface level or does any actual NBA analysis, which is why they get away with takes like that.
Thing is youtube game analysts USED to be better... but a lot of them are now falling into the "story" and "narrative" aspect too and not really caring about the analytics or what the real story could be anymore.
FlightMike has unfortunately gone down that path and at times so has JxmyHighroller. The only big basketball Youtube analyst I really take into account as authentic these days is Jonny Arnett. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

He’s not coming. Would have happened today.
Nope, not true. It’s not on your timeline, my friend.
They just met today. Things don’t happen that fast.
He will likely make a decision on Monday.
There is a lot to think about. It’s called negotiation. What if there is a counteroffer? That doesn’t happen same day ever.

Uh...oh....the dreaded "I'll think out about it." Not gud. Imagine if you propose to a girl and she says "I'll think about it."

Again, all the chicken little here, negotiations take time.
Lots of back and forth.
Agents, lawyers, families consulted.
I did not expect any decision today, that never happens.
I have had many a job offers and it takes time.

RMurphy is only making an assumption. There is no report out there that “he is thinking about it”
Dan knows now if he stays at UCONN or comes to the Lakers.
The media will be I forced when it’s time, either way.

You can come back at me if he signs, but I’ve seen this over and over again. He is staying at UCONN.
When the two parties agree, the deal is not done. The lawyers and the agent need to waste two days picking over nits.
But when two parties disagree, the deal dies on the spot. So the fact that we have heard nothing is good. Looks like the deal is being moved to the lawyers for finalization. Gotta get those billable hours.

It’s more like a gold digger playing two princes against each other, and seeing who offers the most favorable prenup.
