Jokic
Make him a scorer, eliminate him having countless assists and make him work on defense
Rotation of Rui to AD to Hayes to LBJ and even GilesIII (he has 6 fouls to give and should take full advantage of this against Jokic, who will always get his points - just stop him from getting 10+ assists) to always give him separate looks
Murray
Make him be a One-on-One player and forced to create his own shots. Letting Jokic take most of the shots will allow AR/Dinwiddie/Prince (even Cam and Christie in short stints) to make him work hard
Gordon/Porter
Stay home and force them to create on their own while taking hard shots.
Rui to LBJ to Hayes rotation hopefully will force them to make hard shots since (hopefully) the dimes he gets from Jokic will be limited
Since Ham will play Prince (ouch), hopefully he can apply pressure and not make his stupid mistakes of thinking that he can dribble or pass
KCP
Hopefully KCP won't play DLo off the court! Need to have him at least make key shots to limit KCP's ability to slack off DLo on offense so that he can double AD/LBJ
Bench
How will the Nuggets and Lakers bench players fare????
What advantages does the Lakers have that they can take full advantage of the best team in the NBA - talent-wise/experienc-wise

If you can't beat them, play dirty. We ain't getting swept again. At least, if we lost again, make sure the Nuggets are bruised and bloodied when the series is over. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024

We can play better - especially defensively on the perimeter. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Isn’t the formula for beating the Nuggets pretty much what we did in 2020— big, strong center like Dwight guards Jokic with AD as help defender? Why did we go away from that? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Lakers got older and worse while Denver adjusted their roster and improved. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
Nuggs are just bad matchup for Lakers. Jokic can bullying AD and Hayes all game long, and we all know how AD plays when he faces a physical big. they also have long armed and athletic Gordon to guard LeBron, KCP locking up DLO. the only player Nuggets will have some trouble is Rui, Rui needs to punish MPJ in the post as much as he can. and with all that said, they still have Jamal Murry who elevates his game in the playoffs and was the real reason we lost the series last year.

Yea why didn't they just sign another 3x DPOY on a non-guaranteed deal. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."
The Nuggets could count on LeBron and D’Angelo to miss all of their outside shots last year. If they were even mediocre on those shots that series is way different.

We can’t stop their main action. 2-man game with Jokic and Murray. With Gordon cutting from the dunker spot.
Nobody can really stop it to be fair. Towns and Gobert have the size to do it. But Towns has the defensive instincts of a toddler.
We just gotta outscore them.
Agreed in the gotta outscore them part. Its why the Suns were able to take 2 games from Denver last year - the nuclear capability of Booker carried them even though fundamentally, they were just as inferior to the Nuggets as a team as the Lakers were - you saw this in the games the Suns lost and the overall point differential. I felt the Lakers would beat Phoenix had these 2 teams matched up last year due to the Lakers ability to contain Phoenix's offense with their overall shot quality and team depth. The Lakers were a defensive team last year and limited offensive team that could have contained every team in the league except Denver.
This year - we have that same defensive capability as last year (when we lock in as you saw in the IST and last game vs the Pelicans) and a much better offensive capability. I discount Vanderbilt entirely last year and this year - His defense last year was easily negated by his terrible offense and dude was a complete net negative minus throughout the playoffs. If we get him fine - but considering his long layoff, I dont count on his offense at all and without any semblance of offense - you are worthless. But our defense, even when we try is not enough against Denver. Hence....outscore and outexecute them in crunch time. We have the horses to make a better run of it this time.
