So grateful that we won. But here's the simple truth: we can't call ourselves a defensive-minded team and not play defense. Great win fellas but 129 points allowed will eventually lead to more losses than wins.
I hope that's the point the coaches emphasize. |

Awesome win, If the Lakers hadn't choked on that Pistons loss, they would be (something like) 8 out of 9 wins...!
I think they now have the blueprint and confidence on how to actually BEAT Teams...!

This is pure speculation on my part but how much could Ham's familiarity with their system and players have contributed to this win? _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

I’m not so sure that much. Milwaukee played well.
Didn’t see anything Lakers exploited tbh. Just them executing at a high level and shot making. It was more about the Lakers playing a clean game than it was about any inside knowledge Ham had…Bucks still scored 129 lol. |

Btw, feels like our 3pt shootings been ok for couple weeks |
That's a reasonable perspective. The question is what we would get for the FRPs and whether it would really create the sort of roster you envision. The second question is whether we can count on Lebron and Davis being healthy and playing at this level, but that's always been a lurking issue. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

I think that shooting 43% from 3 and only having 4 TOs had more to do with it. Without those I don’t think the team wins. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

We also just beat a team that shot 43 threes and shooting 40% from it |

Just looking at the stat sheet that lack of turnovers. Wow. |
This is tragic. It sucks that DB had to miss our best win in like two years. |

I haven't watched them enough to say, but they seemed to play well last night. Our defense didn't look that good at times, but that part of that was due to some excellent execution by the Bucks. On offense, the Bucks were just giving us some shots, and we were making them. I am thinking specifically of a couple threes by Davis and a couple by Lebron. I think Coach Bud would say "We'll live with that if he makes it." And they did. But it was the turnovers that jumped out at me. We average 14.5, which is about league average, but we had only 4 last night.
I guess this game is a reminder that we're pretty tough when Lebron and Davis play at an elite level and the other players do their jobs. Ham is getting the job done with this flawed roster. But we just about need to pitch a perfect game to hang with a genuine contender. |
That was an A+ effort game from the '21 Champs who were fully healthy. It was a great win. Most teams would've folded with the way either of these teams played last night. |

We did all that, while scoring 133 points, against the team that was ranked no. 1 in defensive rating coming into the game. That by itself is an accomplishment.
The Bucks are also a great offensive team, and maybe the best team in the Eastern Conference. Sometimes when you play a team like that, the final score will be in the 130s and you just have to find a way to win.
Let's see if our defensive continues to improve against the non-contenders. |

Well, actually, the Bucks are not a great offensive team. They are 13th in ORtg. 129 is the most points scored by the Bucks this season in regulation. The second most was 125 against the Rockets. In fairness, it helped them to get Middleton back.
The story of this season from a tactical perspective is Ham trying to walk a fine line between offense and defense with a flawed roster. Reaves and Beverley both got stuck in tough matchups at times and got torched. Troy Brown played okay, but the Bucks really exploited our lack of size on the wings. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

The fact that Middleton only came back last night is a big reason they're only 13th in ORtg. They were 3rd in that category last season and 6th in their championship season.
He's so important to what they do offensively, especially in crunch time. That's probably why they haven't scored in the 130s yet. |

Yes, they took advantage of PatBev and Nunn - not so much Riverboat Reeves. Just as the Dubs don’t have great length when Draymond is at the 5, they are able to impose their defensive will on opposing teams
The national broadcasters noted that the consistent energy that Westbrook is bringing off the bench have unleashed high activity and movement from Gabriel to Bryant to Skywalker to others that have provided the opportunities to not have to play consistently 35+ MPG like Curry. Coming off the bench with AD/LBJ on the bench has him on the court with players that can run with him
Ham is discovering that a AD/Gabriel and AD/Bryant can be effective. Maybe a Bryant, AD, Gabriel, Reeves and LBJ/Westbrook lineup looms in the future against teams like the TWolves - when they get their twin towers back |

Great win, back-to-back games that were FUN to watch!!! Huge effort by the Big 3 (but those last 2 Westbrook ft's were almost unforgiveable, but that steal bought him some leeway). _________________ Magic*Kobe*LBJ*AD*Cap |
