I mean that was an extremely shallow fly ball with plenty of time for the LF to get under it and any semi decent throw would’ve easily nabbed him. In Ebel’s defense, he immediately had the stop sign up so it’s not as if he changed his mind |
It's your best chance to score imo. Runner who flies. If the throw is off, he's going to score. It's not exactly a guy with a Gold Glove reputation playing LF there. I have to force him to make the play if I'm the coach there, and he already had the sign up immediately, like you said. I just don't think he's good at his job, I don't think he has good judgment. I think that's been proven time and again. |

Yeah, not denying that he’s not the best with his decision making this year. But I think Trea would’ve been out by a mile in this instance. Ball was too shallow and Azocar had his momentum coming up. The throw was barely off line and where Machado caught it, definitely think he could’ve easily applied the tag.
In any event, glad the passed ball happened so it became moot.
Hope we can pull this baby off in the dreaded extras. |

We're using Phillips like we used to use Treinen, and it looks to me like we're using Kahnle like the closer. |

He would have scored easily if he had run. Throw was way too far up the line, and if it's cut off by Machado, there's no way he's going to beat Trea's speed and get the ball to the catcher in time, and if they let it go through, no chance for the catcher. I am watching the Padres broadcast and their announcers were shocked that Trea didn't try to score, as fast as he is.
Anyway, I'm worried that Ebel will cost us in the postseason. Hoping we get lucky and that never comes up. Also worried that Roberts will cost us in the postseason. C'est la vie. |

Tough to tell. But I guess I can’t fault Dino too much considering how shallow it was.
Hopefully it won’t come down to Dino at all in the postseason.
And this team absolutely sucks in extras. Just truly awful.
Kimbrel coming in against the top of the order. Yikes!

Not surprised by that at bat by Mookie. He tends to do that once in awhile. |

Oh wow look at that. A bunt. Would be nice if we did that.
Oh hell, we’d just strand the runner anyway lol |

Can’t ask Freeman to bunt though. We could let TT steal though? |

I wanted Belli to bunt in the top half of the 10th. He’s so fast he could, possibly, even beat it out |

Boy Kimbrel sure nibbles.
Why not just challenge the dude? Why try and paint the corners?

I don't remember the last time a Dodgers pitcher pitched a walk off walk. |

You’d think striking out Manny would give Kimbrel confidence but I guess not |

If there was any doubt about Kimbrel making the postseason roster, I think that was a death blow for him. So maybe a blessing in disguise for us. I'm expecting right-handers Kahnle, Phillips, Martin, Graterol, and Almonte in there, along with May if he's healthy. Treinen would have a spot if he can get healthy but I think that's unlikely. If we assume that 5 "starters" will make the roster (Urias, Kershaw, Anderson, Gonsolin, and Heaney), that leaves, what 8 relievers, right? I just mentioned 6 righties that I think will get spots. Vesia is a lock. I assume Ferguson is close to a lock, which would leave Price out, but maybe Doc would incorrectly opt for the veteran Price. I think that would be a mistake. Of course, if the Dodgers just don't trust May and think that the 5 righties are enough from that side, perhaps they'll opt for Price over May. |

I think he simply doesn't have the command anymore. A lot of those pitches in the last 2 AB's weren't even close. Non-competitive pitches, as they say. |

Yeah, he gets caught guessing a little more often than you'd like. It's tough to argue with his results, but yeah, he does guess and at times, he's just caught watching the paint dry. (Hoosiers reference!) |

I hope we don't play the Padres in the playoffs....I would be scared to see Manny and Snell. |

We have Freeman, Betts, and Turner. That's like 3 manny's on one team. LOL
But seriously I hope we go through Mets, Braves, and Astros/Yankees to win it all. |

If we play the Padres, that means they've taken out either the Mets or the Braves for us.
And if we play them in the NLCS, that means they took out St Louis too. |

I'm with you there. Ultimately, I think that every team poses a challenge, and that there's danger with any potential series. |
