I believe it's a certainty that Vogel will be fired ... like the guy but he caught lightening in a bottle.
Looking at the NBA landscape I think a guy like Kenny Atkinson should get another shot.
That pre-KD Nets team that he got into the playoffs was impressive.
He's spent the past 2 years w/the Clippers and now GSW. Working and observing how Kerr and Lue handle star players should be a big game changer for him.
I'd like to give him a shot. |

I have no confidence that this FO will hire a quality coach. Vogel was their third choice, I could see that happening again. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I can see it now, there’s a young stud coach to be hired and Jeannie Buss refuse because he demands free soda from Laker facility. Face it, our ownership is cheap. |

Not getting my hopes up…
Could have had Lue but gone with a cheaper Vogel. They didn’t want to pay for Caruso. Could have easily made those money back in a few games. Also now hearing a trade didn’t happen because of tax implications.
Jeannie got her budget friendly title and thought she can continue with it.

People seem to think that this dysfunctional group a guys will become a
team under another coach; good luck with that and trying to find a
quality HC now.
Bigger problem is the FO letting a player build the team. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

I have absolutely no confidence in Jeanie Buss and Kurt Rambis to make this decision.
The next coach will probably be a retread with "Laker ties". |

Phil Handy with really talented assistants please. Get a guy players would run through a wall for and take discounts in FA to work with and surround him with tacticians. There's no salary cap for coaches you (bleep) cheapskates |

What’s all about this Phil handy guy? What has he done to deserve to be consider the head coach of the freaking Lakers? I know he’s a likable guy and respected by current and ex-Laker players, but as the head coach? I don’t know. But if he’s asking price is low then our cheap ownership may very well consider him. |

He's been respected and revered by players for a long time and honestly, he's vying for the role if you watch what happens on the bench. I think coaches are mostly spiritual leaders, particularly for teams like the Lakers that rely on superstars signing and FAs signing for cheap. But the staff has to have extremely talented offensive and defensive coordinators. That's the direction I'd go.
The only other respectable name I've seen out there is Kenny Atkinson, and I'm not really sure he's a head coach for this team. He got the upstart Nets to punch above their weight and that's pretty much it. |

We already let two good coaches (Ty Lue and Monty Williams) slip away because our owner is counting pennies.
Then hired Frank Vogel and the man couldn't even choose his own assistants. |

We didn't know it at the time but Monty would have been a dream. Look at the clownshow their ownership is and how Monty has still elevated the organization. |

Oh boy. Just make LeGM the LeCoach for this last upcoming season if that’s the case. |

Well to be fair the current coach and FO have leaked this in collaboration with LeGM/AD…but Klutch is working their mouthpieces to deflect any blame or association with the moves…after their two top clients pounded their chests about getting Russ, Monk and Nunn to join with the latter two considered below market value steals.
You can’t just brag when (bleep) is going right and get passive aggressive when it doesn’t. LeBron is notorious for this crap. |

Ok. I'll suggest it. He set the wheels on motion for the Warriors dominance. He was sent packing on account of personality issues. Maybe he works in a Pelinka-Rambis relationship. _________________ Darvin |

I would take Vogel over all of those combined.
Where does this narrative of "Lue is the better coach" come from? That year he won in Cleveland didn't impress, he doesn't impress me now either. If LeBron would have been convinced Lue is the better coach - we would have Lue as a coach now. |

No, we don’t have Lue because of money and contract years, Lebron had nothing to do with it. Lue gets players to play every game and his players give effort every game. The Lakers have 3 star players and Lue is coaching 0 yet the Lakers are chasing them in the standings. The Lakers thought that Lue was a better choice than Vogel. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
