For a defensive specialist coach, this doesn't sound like a defensive move.
As the season goes on, it seems that Vogel has reconciled that he doesn't have the right personnel for good defense. He is just trying to score as many points and is hoping we get the critical stops. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

Considering he was our best player before injury and especially our best two way player, literally with the most responsibility, playing at a high level on both ends... I don't know where you think he was in bad shape or even close to being out of shape. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Lebron may be the MVP of our offense. But on D, it's AD by miles. You don't win without Lebron being what he is on O and AD being what he is on D.
People were scoffing that that dude Cranjiis work on all AD does on D, but it's been obvious without AD our defense has began to fall apart again. |

Under what evidence do you think AD came into camp or this season out of shape?

Yeah they hated it because it disproved their theory, and then they used the Lakers little win streak to try to say that they don't need AD.
They got a reality check these past few games.

Giannis and Durant are the only two people at his position that you could argue are better than him. And they're the Number 1 and 2 best players in the entire NBA. Stop taking AD for granted. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

It’s for Westbrook.
He needs the paint open. |

For sure. But man, we gave up 70+ points in the paint to the Kings. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

No new yet
Per Trudell
There’s no update on Anthony Davis right now, other than that he’ll be reevaluated by the medical staff in the next few days, and we’ll likely hear from AD next week.
He’s been out with the left MCL sprain that occurred on Dec. 17 at Minnesota.

Ah yes, the update of an update coming. Maybe day to Davis will make it back by March 1. Same with Nunn, if he’s not traded…you know the savior, along with 36 year old Ariza who is “getting his legs.” |

I can already see it. Vogel after a first round exit, "You know, it's tough when you have guys in and out of the lineup all year. Injuries played a big part. AD and Nunn missing long stretches of the season and we couldn't build any continuity. We had the right guys, just unfortunate circumstances. And you know, Russ was great. He played his heart out and sacrificed so much this year. He's a true winning player." _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

As much as Vogel likes to use swag and winner to describe players, at least Rondo backed it up in certain games and the playoffs…when he wasn’t fully cooked like this season.
The players we have now are lazy, careless and losing players. I guess that’s why Rondo has chips and these other name dudes have not even been close.
Then we have day to Davis, who we just don’t know if and when he will play and play at max level. |

What has Tatum or Williams done to prove they're winners or can elevate a team?
People really do be taking AD for granted.
They discredit AD like "Well all his great Playoff performances and years he carried New Orleans was just empty stats"
But they look at Jayson Tatum and the Celtics and their lack of success and go "ooh wish he was a Laker and could put those stats to use here."
AD is greater and more impactful in every way than Tatum. ESPECIALLY on the defensive end. And it isn't close. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Lakers medical staff + AD, we're talking the worst possible combination for a player recovering from an injury. |

Blame the person that threw himself into AD's knee like ya'll blamed the person who threw themselves into LeBron last year. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
