IT with a Laker High -1 for any player with significant minutes last night.
What would be the loss if we dump DJ for him on a non-guarantee. We can still use Huff for more than half the games at this point. _________________ Darvin

at this point I'd dump DJ for a bag of bean sprouts and a cup of water.
The offense looks substantially better run by IT than Westbrook or Lebron at this point.
Our offense would look better with Cookie the Clown running it instead of Westbrook _________________ "I bought the Lakers so I could beat the Celtics" - Dr. Jerry Buss

Good thing he got a lot of run the last 4-5 minutes against the Wolves third teamers to pad the stats. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Exactly and all things being equal, I’d not dump a big for IT but if
it made sense maybe a small. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !

Players like Kostas, Cacok, Dudley don't score 20 points when you put them in garbage time.
Players like Kuzma do.
We could use someone who can score like Kuzma against second and third units.
We need some more offensive creativity... I don't know why people wouldn't want him to succeed.
And IT is a way better shooter than Kuzma... even if a defensive liability.

He actually did a fair amount of his work throughout the game, but maybe the cable went out in podunk Ventura. _________________ Darvin

What do you do on the defensive end with now a much smaller shorter line up? Like I said this team don’t have the personnel to be able to play IT consistently and get away with it. He fits better on last year’s roster.

Or maybe some actually watched the game. Good for him that he is getting into playing shape but a -1 isn’t impressive. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Throughout the game? IT didn't play at all in the 1st quarter, and he played less than 2 minutes in the 3rd quarter, so he did all his work in quarters 2 and 4.
To be fair to Ventura, 7 of IT's 19 points were in the last 3 minutes when the game was already over, so there was a good chunk of garbage time stats.

I'd get rid of Bazemore and deandre Jordan at the same time. Sadly I don't see any team just taking them off our hands. If we bring in IT for the rest of the season maybe we could package Nunn with them. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

So he played the 2nd and 3rd quarters and scored 12 points during that?
Thanks for confirming what I wrote _________________ Darvin
Isaiah Thomas says the first thing he thought of after Rob called him was Kobe.
“What would Kobe think about this? He would always send me a text when something dope happened. I wish he was here."
Beautiful, love the respect.
This is the type of signing that could prove to galvanize the locker room. His success will light a fire within this team. Less entitlement, more hustle and grind. Instant offence off the bench. Great debut. Let’s see if he can keep it up.

If IT keeps playing well, and the Lakers sign him for beyond this 10-day period, I wonder if he would have any trade value where we could package him in a trade for a 3-and-D forward instead of giving up another vet min guy like Monk.
"I really hope IT plays well after getting back in the league... so we can trade him!!"
This isn't the Lakers way of "we take care of our own".
Remember that big contract we gave to Kobe even though he was the end of the road and every other organization was calling us crazy, but that wasn't a factor to us because we were taking care of Kobe?
That's the kind of stuff Dr. Buss would do, it's the kind of mentality he had, its why people like Magic and Kobe fell in love with this organization because of the things they'd do for their own.

Let's not let that mentality disappear from all of us.
I'm not saying we should absolutely trade IT.
I'm just saying that if he sticks and plays well, maybe he's an option to trade if we do strike a deal instead of trading someone like Monk who has given us a lift many times this season.
It's good to have lots of options. The only untradeable guys on this team are the Big 3.

That is extremely doubtful, especially considering the minuscule salary (relatively) he would make. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Wouldn't he be making about the same as our other vet min players?
I'm not suggesting IT would have tons of trade value, but maybe the same amount as those other guys so that we would still be left with enough young guys in the backcourt when trading for a useful frontcourt player.
