I'm still more optimistic for a dynamic playmaker trade.
Didn't take much for PHX to get CP3. |
With hindsight, we definitely should have given up KCP, Kuz and Green for CP3. Would have been a total game changer and would have carried a lighter load from AD and Lebron. |
I'm trying not to think about it, because dynamic playmakers to that level are so hard to get. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

I donβt think you understand why I posted the tweet, I just wanted to know if anyone else also heard John Hollinger mention Al Horford with the Lakers, sorry for upsetting you.. you are definitely 1 of my favorite posters on LG believe it or not. |

As I remember it, that was just an idea that some reporter came up with, when people were bandying about Chris Paul to the Lakers trade. I don't recall any reporting that suggested the deal was actually available to us. |

That part doesn't matter to me. I just saw what PHX gave up and thought LAL could give a competitive offer.
So many of these things go unreported until the deal is pretty much done anyway. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

I am shocked how good CP3 has played. That being said, I still wouldn't want him. He is a douche who ultimately alienates everyone. |

Lay off the Inspector. Without him, we would be completely oblivious to what the fringes of the Internet are saying about the Lakers. |

Since we're talking about what the Lakers could've done...Bogi at 4/$72M would've been a bargain, no? Especially if Kuz/Green/1st could've gotten it done for the Kings...... |

Call me crazy but give me Westbrook/Shooters next season on the Lakers.
Dennis/Kuzma/KCP/1st for RW
Westbrook would let Bron/AD take some nights off dude never gets injured always goes 110%
A trio of Westbrook/Bron/AD is actually pretty good aslong as you put some shooters around |

Bargain, yes. Break even defensive player with Capela behind him too. Would have been perfectly good defensively at LAL. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

All due respect, IG posts so much in this thread that ignoring his posts are impossible. Now he's thanking you for backing him up, which will further embolden his posts. This is like the 100th time I've seen this argument about IG play out ... and it causes lots of people (who are smart, considerate and great posters) to just walk away. We don't need to install a gestapo to police all thought, but wouldn't some baseline rules help or some guidance to specific people?
If John Hollinger mentioned that the Lakers might be in on Horford, that's worth discussing. If IG had the idea to go after Horford and wanted to propose some trade ideas, that's worth discussing. But, if some jagoff with 20 followers posed it as a question to someone else, it's not worth treating as an actual "rumor," which is exactly what IG is doing. And if a major media type is involved--like Hollinger--it's pretty easy to just google it and go to the source. It would be amazing to see some attempt to prevent this place from becoming an absolute s**tshow again once the real (and fake) rumors start heating up again. |

Isn't he also a solid playmaker for a guy most people think is just a shooter? Maybe not a true secondary ballhandler like Schroder, but he could certainly help take some pressure off a lead guy.
Sticking to the same team, do you think Gallo as a reasonable option to pursue this summer on a team where he might be an odd man out, age and position wise? |

^Still perpetuating it by addressing it, Chick's Magic Johnson
.
I'm surprised, considering from more experienced posters, this happens every year anyway. Do people really dig that deep into rumors or not?
Actually, take that back, I know they do. Lots were in their feelings about me just liking the idea of CP3 in trade, whether or not it was true.
As if Westbrook being on ESPN in a trade rumor to LA was any more credible anyway...
You think I'd take that seriously because it's ESPN? Are you actually going to as well? _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Yes, if there was an opportunity for one of my favorite non Lakers, I would have pulled the trade.
He's a secondary ball handler, but unlike DS, doesn't need the basketball to provide gravity and still be a threat.
It's too late though. ATL loves him, even if they're stacked with wings.
I disagree about Gallo though. Shooter only, non ball handler, non playmaker, can't defend. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Too late for that now. Have to look elsewhere.
But man, the difference between CP3 and Lowry to me, is a wide divide. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
