I was fine with the signing. I thought he could knock down threes at a decent clip while coming on a cheap deal. He was t bad for the bucks, but he has stunk this year. |

He was the starting guard on the team with the best record in the league last season, and still a 12 a game scorer the year before that. And he signed for the league minimum as a career 38% three point shooter.
The logic was that they were going to lose Green and Bradley but that he could probably give you similar minutes but at a cheaper price. Unfortunately he seems to have gotten old. He's still playing solid defense but offensively he is worthless right now. |

Yeah, it was a very solid signing after losing Green and Bradley while getting Dennis back we needed the Green replacement. Easy to second guess the decision now but there wasn't a bunch of better options out there at that price tag.
Batum would have been awesome but nearly everyone was not expecting this kind of return for him. Knowing us, in the alternate universe Batum signs with the Lakers he's one of the leagues worst 3 point shooters as well i'm sure |

Vogel should start Harrell or THT over Matthews
Harrell, Morris, Kuzma, KCP and Schroder
Or
Morris, Kuzma, KCP, THT, Schroder |

I was hopeful for him but man, he's cratered. At that age you can drop off the cliff pretty quickly. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Overall a pretty good effort by Wes tonight. He's finally showing some life.
He scored 9 points on 2-4 shooting (0-1 from three, 5-5 from the line) to go with 4 boards in 18 minutes. His defense has been solid. He was a +11. |

I think vets like him and Gasol need the steady playing time to get into a rhythm where they can consistently produce. Yes he still dogs opponents on defense and has the old man strength to bother them physically. |

Wes hasn’t been completely useless lately. Just mostly useless. But it’s a small step in the right direction, so I’m holding out hope for him. I do like the energy he brings on D at times. |

I had to dust this thread off because Wes was the unsung hero tonight. His putback with 3 seconds left gave us life. Matthews has played well two games in row. He is a bulldog defensively. |

Wes Matthews in essence has looked a lot more different in recent weeks compared to when the season started, he’s more engaged and his body language is different. |

Based on his recent play, I can see Wes as a solid rotation player in the playoffs |

All of the energy he didn’t use for most of the year is paying dividends at the right time |

Surprise, surprise the two older savvy veteran signings are starting to show out towards the end oft he season.
Great to see him look solid on both ends in 2 straight games though. This version of him is nearly a wash to Danny Green which would be massive if he sustains it into the Playoffs which is very possibly imo. |

His defense will be crucial for the Lakers in winning the chip this season. |

Big 3 in the 4th or overtime. Having trouble recalling. But the put back to send the game to OT along with bulldog defense. Sign me up. Hoping he's turned the corner. Need all the veteran savvy we can get for the playoffs. |

He's definitely stepping up lately...I've been a harsh critic of him but he definitely has a role on certain match-ups. Kudos to him. Hope he keeps this up. |

Guys like Wes, Marc, Kieff, I think they will be ready for any situation in the playoffs. It's good to have guys like them who won't make stupid mistakes in crunch time. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Yeah, this is the Wes I remember seeing on other teams.. Super high defensive iq without fouling.. We didn't see much defense all game from either side but in crunch time Wes once again delivered. |
