This team reminds me of how dependent we were on Kobe. AD was signed to be the next team leader. Now is the time for him to prove he has the goods. TBH I've never been convinced he has them. IMO he's a Robin. We need a Batman. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

The Lakers have to find a solution to the Lebron on five.
Last year they found a solution and his name was Rondo.
Rondo made the playoff teams pay for concentrating only on Lebron.
On the Lakers now there is no other solution besides DS and he is not a true playmaker.
Gasol being the third best playmaker tells you something about the team. |

I don’t think that’s unique to this team. I think this perspective is more a byproduct of AD having a down season due to a compressed season, no practice time, and short offseason. Most championship teams are built upon having the best player in the world. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

I just want AD to bang inside and go to the line a million times like embidd. Then sprinkle in some jumpers. |

This is where Kobe would be helpful, I can imagine him getting on AD’s ass. |

“Bang inside”?
I’m not sure I could stomach all the grimacing, grabbing various body parts or simply falling down he would be doing by doing more banging inside.
The man is a perimeter player. A finesse player. Not a junk yard dog type.
He is who is. Incredibly talented, but battling in the paint not one of his strengths.
Davis needs an Alpha to drive him. Sadly James being injured restricts him from enforcing his will on a game. And James is feeling his age. Davis is going to need to prove he can lead the team in talent and spirit. |

I will never quit on the tram, but this ankle isn’t getting better this season. I just feel between ADs injury and the lack of consistent bench play, and now DS out....this team is doomed. Hope I’m wrong. |

Really? You guys our that dour about an ankle sprain?
I’m not as bearish on DS or the bench as you two. It’s hard to have consistent bench play when the bench is different every day. Fortunately - most of that hurdle normalises in the postseason. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

If you've noticed I've been bullish on not looking at the downside of this team. I stopped posting in the game thread because of all the negativity.
I haven't given up but the reality is what it is. The East has risen and the West has improved. If we win it all this year LeBron will take the front seat in GOAT debates. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

So according to Shams, they're bringing back Lebron next week. He's expected to miss the next three games, coming back against the Knicks at the earliest.
Ha our championship hopes are such a mystery. We could be incredible like last year, or completely lost. I'll be here for the ride. |

I think LeBron is faking an injury, for whatever reason. |

Maybe he wants the role players to step up before he returns that would be a good reason to make up a injury. |

Okay so I've heard some interesting theories out there on sports talk radio.
1) LeBron is publicly announcing how bad his injury is so there's a built in excuse if they don't win.
2) LeBron is doing reverse psychology to set the bar low and make everyone think he's against all odds. So if he wins, it ends the GOAT debate.
There seems to be some motive because this injury is handled so strangely in the press. "Won't ever be 100% in my career" (I know he meant mileage in context, but why even say that), ankle felt good in first game but was just a little tight, ankle was sore both games, sharp pain in both games, etc.
He likes creating his own drama, but it could also be nothing. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

Lol that is absurd. Lebron is the last person to accuse of deliberately missing this much time. He was the front runner for mvp and he’s chasing the all time points record.
Maybe deliberately missing time could’ve been the case earlier in the season but with playoffs so close and not much time to get into the swings of things...if he’s not playing at this point it’s because he physically isn’t ready. |

Agreed, I don't think he would fake an injury to be out this long. He's chasing Kareem and was the MVP favorite alongside Embiid. Probably would've won it too since Embiid missed so many games. This was the longest stretch of his career sitting out. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

LeBron can't fully rest without saying he's injured, or else the team will get fined. It would make sense for him to allow his team to pull weight without him, it only makes them better and more confident for his return. Kinda like enabling them to be great. |

To me, that theory was dead in the water upon his return to the Kings and Raptors game. We couldn't beat two lottery teams and it was clear he wasn't moving the same. It's easy to tell when he's on the defensive end. It reminded me of his defense when he came back from the groin injury: nonexistent. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

What's shocking to me is that people still believe a guy that wrapped a black napkin around his hand when he got swept by Golden State and told the media "Make sure you guys get a good picture of that".
I don't believe anything he says. He thinks he's some kind of Wizard of Oz behind the scenes controlling the media with puppet strings.
Yeah, I know...I'm a hater. I'll just say it and save some of you the time to write it lol |
