Much rather have him than Schroeder.
Pelinka knows! |
Schroeder has played better Lowry since the trade deadline though.
He puts up the same numbers as Lowry but for 20 million less. |
Lowry has intangibles you can't value.
Plus Lowry won't be making the same money next yr. |
Lowry's intangibles sure did not do much for Toronto without Kawhi. Lowry's game is similar to most borderline stars and scrubs: pop off against the Lakers to try to get yourself a new contract that you do not deserve. |
Well if he wants to come here next season for the minimum I wouldnt say no _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. He truly has no idea that he’s not as good as he thinks." - Killer_Z |

Lowry is a six-time all-star. His intangibles did a lot for Toronto without Kawhi. The metrics have consistently rated him as a top 10 point guard in the league, sometimes top 5. The Raptors made the playoffs six times, not counting the season with Kawhi. For a franchise like Toronto, that's a big deal. Prior to Lowry, the Raptors had made the playoffs only five times, and they hadn't made it in the five years before he got them there. He deserves some respect.
But at 35, he doesn't deserve a big contract. He might have another year or two in the tank, but he might not. He would be an upgrade over Schroder right now, but who knows about next season? _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

Agreed. A stretch center is pivotal for Lebron and AD going forward. |

The ideal center, even though its unrealistic, would be Jonas Valanciunas |

They have one unless you foresee Gasol retiring or becoming unplayable. |

Myles Turner would actually be a great fit next to AD. Kuz might be able to fetch Turner in a trade this summer. |

Kuz plus 2-3 future 1sts may do it. _________________ Under New Management |

How many guys in the league avg almost 2 made 3 pt shots per game and over 3 blk's?
Turner would be a great get.
The only question with him is durability as he seems to be missing games often due to injury. |

I was thinking more realistically, a signing like Dieng for half of the mini-MLE. Something along those lines. But yes, if we wanted bigger fish, that's an ideal player, though not sure we have 2-3 future 1sts to offer. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Didn't would be fine. Maybe Dedmon has something left in the tank.
I really think they need to prioritize a 3-4 defender with their few remaining resources (like the mini-MLE), but who'll be available who's better than Markieff for that money? _________________ Under New Management |

well, Gasol is back next season. |
It'll be interesting to see him with a full off-season of rest and without COVID, but this season has demonstrated the Lakers need good depth behind him. Having a second floor-spacing C in the rotation would be nice.
I hope they can also get some younger big men into the talent pipeline who are better than Kostas and Cacok. _________________ Under New Management |

Yes to Myles. There were some rumors heading into the trade deadline that we were scouring around.

Also Woj just reported that there’s beef among players, staff and the coach.
Quote: |
Amid a year of difficulties with players and staff, Indiana Pacers coach Nate Bjorkgren’s future with the franchise is uncertain as the regular season nears an end, sources tell ESPN. The Pacers are 30-34 and in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
Bjorkgren has work to do on relationships with key players in his locker room, sources tell ESPN, and has thus far shown a willingness within the organization to try to address those issues.

Could lead to a refresh in culture there...one could hope.
As for picks that we can deal, 2021 seems to be ours since it won’t be top8, so we can include that pick AFTER the draft, 2022 goes to the Pels, 23 is a swap so we can add an even lower swap option with another team, 2024 & 2025 are off limits cause of the deferment plan we included to the Pels, so indirectly that means 2026 can’t be dealt without some 2024 stipulated condition (Stepien rule restricts consecutive picks dealt) and lastly one of 2027 or 2028 can be dealt (Stepien 7 year rule).
So potentially up to 3 future picks can be dealt (with the 2024 pick having to go to the Pels and us retaining the 2025 pick). |

Kick the tires on Marquese Chriss. Hopefully the influence of being in the GSW system has helped him mature into a professional. |

How about Jerami Grant? He, Bron and Davis would be pretty flexible on both ends. Maybe Kuz and our 2021 1st. |

On paper, me too please. In reality, it depends on who remains a Laker next season and what we have to give up to get him. |

The guy on the Pacers we need to make a run at is Brogdon he should been a target when we were going after Kawhi Leonard. |
