One of the most nerve racking wins of the season, but I'll take it. Props to THT and AD. We needed this win BAD.

Today he played like a GUARD/small forward.
The Lakers are obviously gonna let Dre and Marc do all the banging in the paint.
Marc should get a guaranteed 15-20 minutes a game.
Vogel and staff needs to realize some matchups just aren’t going to work for Dre. |

Lakers win 93-89.
Honestly, first game this year I looked at the other team and said...they remind me of our guys luck this year.
Just wow.
First, before I get into "lady luck" (or 50/50) going in our guys favor...
Major, major kudos to the guys for that D. You would think these were two different teams from last night to tonight. Shocking that this was the same team that gave up 120 to a lotto team. This game - ZERO 30+ quarters given up.
Offense...eesh, that drought in the 4th. We may just have to realize this team wont avoid those this year, and Vog needs to have some better strategy for this, eg tell them just go at the hoop.
Now, the "luck" (I mean that as a catch all)
Lakers got more FTs, 23-16. The fact the refs mostly held their whistles in check was huge.
Then the bounces - THT in final minute drives to hoop, takes awkward shot, misses, somehow Gasol tips it back to THT, who takes another twisting layup shot...and scores. That kinda stuff has gone against the Lakers this year, nice to see it go in their favor.
Gasol. Finally, I mean finally, Vogel may have evolved from being Smeagol to back to Vogel for the past couple weeks, as he elected to run Gasol in key minutes including down the stretch. Kudos to Vog for FINALLY rewarding good play. He may get a demotion however if he elects to toss Gasol on the side again.
AD - some big shots in the game. Early on had some really, really nice moves to the hoop for layups.
Dre: 4 points, 0 boards, in 22 minutes....I mean. Wow
Blazers lost, so Lakers, so Lakers back to controlling their destiny. This one game alone does not make up for everything we've seen past couple weeks, but is a big step in the right direction. Clippers next, who are licking their chops. Lakers need to be ready to just try and lock them down. _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. Funny both guys that lost PT due to AD2/BenMac signings are the ones who stepped up tonight.
Great job Gasol/Matthews |

If Vogel sidelines him again, I will have lost all remaining faith in him as a leader of the team. |

Not me. I knew from the beginning Marc’s impact wasn’t gonna be the same as Dwight and Javale.
Those that actually watch basketball closely knew what Marc was about.
He used to destroy us in his Memphis days basically all by himself and sprinkle in a little Zach Randolph and Mike Conley. |

He helps the offense as well. At a minimum, just as a "floor general" in telling guys what they should do. He absolutely NEEDS to be the regular second unit guy, only "benched" in wierd match ups. Depending on game and match up, he or Dre can close. _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. So, my only nitpick here King is that early in the season he was the stay-puft marshmallow man, guys would go at him, land on him, and score, alot.
Dude has been alot better since Dre showed up. Could be a coinky dink, maybe Gasol was just not in the shape he needed, or maybe he forgot to eat his Wheaties...whatever it is I dont care, but he is playing much better now than earlier _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. Nice to see him go back to his roots.

I mean, even the Laker organization had concluded that Gasol wasn't playing up to the anticipated level, and I think they "watch basketball closely."
I know that Marc used to destroy us and really everyone with Memphis. But that was several years back when he was at the most elite level. He's slowed down considerably since then, but he can definitely still be useful.
I'm happy that he has turned the tide. |

That block by AD was a great sign. That’s reminiscent of last season and what separates him as the ultimate 5 when we get to playoffs. He’s one of the few that can play the 5 and still be a nightmare defending the perimeter on rotations and switches. |
