IFTOS - VAN VLEET
Per Lewenberg
Fred VanVleet will sit out vs the Lakers tonight, injury management on his hip in the second night of a back-to-back. Trent, Boucher and Watson are still out. Lowry is expected to play.

NO WORD ON STARTING LINEUP YET
Per Trudell
Vogel has yet to detail starters. When Schroder missed 4 games in February, all Lakers losses in which AD was also out, Kuzma or Morris started for AD, and Matthews started for Schroder for 3 games, THT for the 4th. Matthews hasn’t played since getting 6 minutes vs. DAL on 4/24.

CGOAT WITH THE START
Per Trudell
Alex Caruso will start tonight for the first time this season, and the first time since Game 6 of last year’s Finals.
He replaces Dennis Schroder (health and safety protocols), joining KCP, LeBron, AD and Drummond to face Toronto.

IN GAME INJURIES - LEBRON
Per McTen
LeBron checked out of the game with 6:42 remaining in the 4th Q with the Lakers trailing by 16. Shortly thereafter, he retreated to the back. L.A. made a run without him to cut it to six with 58.9 seconds left. LAL says that James did not return because his right ankle is sore
https://twitter.com/mcten/status/1389074999911141376?s=21
Per Oram
Lakers say LeBron James has a sore right ankle and won't return. The sprain that knocked him out for 20 games was the right ankle.

LBJ OUT - of course when I’m going to the game...
ICYMI
Per Stein (press release at link)
The Lakers have officially listed LeBron James (ankle) as out tonight against Denver. This game completes the first of four remaining back-to-backs on LA’s schedule:
https://twitter.com/thesteinline/status/1389299558228893700?s=21
Schrö is still out as well (along with Dudz of course). Everyone else is “probable” meaning they’re playing unless there is a late scratch. |

SCHRO GON’ BE OUT FOR A MINUTE
Per Trudell
Schroder will thus be out for at least the following games:
TOR, DEN (tonight), LAC, POR, and PHX.
Vs. NYK on May 11 could be Day 10 depending upon when the clock started.
If it’s 14 days, I believe that would include all but the final game of the reg. season (May 16).

LBJ - NO SETBACK. JUST MAKING SURE.
Per Trudell
LeBron James did not suffer a setback with his ankle last night against Toronto, but Frank Vogel said they decided to hold him out for this 2nd night of a back to back. LeBron said the ankle was sore in the 2nd half of both games, and he's day-to-day moving forward.

LEBRON - SOUNDS LIKE A SETBACK TO ME
Per Woj
Lakers star LeBron James is expected to miss back-to back games on Thursday (Clippers) and Friday (Blazers) to rest his right ankle, sources tell ESPN. James will proceed cautiously with ankle injury as playoffs approach.

I know it's just for precaution I guess, but kind of soon to say he's missing both games which are 2-3 days from now? Weird. I think he may have re-aggravated it. I was afraid he might come back too soon like his groin injury. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

Can you imagine if key stars are out in the playoffs due to Covid? That bubble doesn't sound like a bad idea. And people want to discredit our title from last year? _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |
