He was not going to be playing in the playoffs anyway, unless in some few situations, and he can still be a presence in the playoffs with his voice, leadership etc. just like an assistant coach. |

That's probably the end of his career as player, and the start of his career as Coach Duds |

That's tough news for Duds, he's a true pro. He doesn't get many minutes, but when he does, it's good to see him out there being active, a vocal leader and the veteran this team needs with either a 2nd or 3rd unit.
Not sure where the road leads for him with that type of injury and his age, but he's the type of player that you want to keep around in any capacity even if he ends up being an assistant on the bench.
Not sure if this means an injured player exception for the team or not, but we are definitely thin in our depth and will need to add players who can contribute.
Injured Players:
AD (Achilles Strain)
Gasol (COVID Protocols)
Caruso (AC) (Concussion Protocols)
Duds (Torn MCL)
K. Antetokounmpo (COVID Protocols)
With those guys out/on the mend that puts us at 11 players and that's with the recent 2nd-10 day signing of Damion Jones. I'm seriously concerned we're putting too much on LBJ in the regular season and wondering if we're going to make some additions to get better!
I can only see us dealing in the buyout or FA market, because we have nothing of significance worth trading. |

Hopefully gets cut if we need to clear a roster spot, Dudz should've have already been coaching this season. Plays like a gramps and now is done. |

Quote: | Jared Dudley says he will not pursue surgery on his torn MCL, as it would keep him out 4-6 months. He says he will continue to rehab around the team. He hopes to be healthy by the playoffs, to provide spot minutes. In the meantime, he will continue to be a locker room presence. |

Probably will still be around and on the roster until season's end, now that things have become clearer. Doubt he sees any more NBA minutes, but running 14 deep (after buyout signings) is more than enough
Glad to hear he's staying positive though _________________ #18 next... |

Look for him to hit a 3 in a Finals Game as the Mighty Lakers repeat. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Hate to see any injuries and I love Dudz but realistically he can still do pretty much everything useful he provides on the bench/in the locker room just fine. It was kind of brutal watching him get double digit minutes in the few games before the all star break. I'm all for him playing blowout minutes but not meaningful ones.
Great to hear he will still be around the team though. |

Man, it's amazing how a player can turn from one of those you most dislike, to one of those you most respect
Dudz is one of those guys. What a presence has he been for us _________________ #18 next... |

Worth every penny of what we got him for.
He has been incredibly valuable to the locker room. |

Def. he's probably helped diffuse and stop altogether drama from stirring up that we'll hopefully never know about. That's the kind of stuff that can kill a locker room real fast ala the Clippers last year. |

Damn, after he made calls and recruited some of the guys like Dwight to come back. _________________ |

Pretty sure the Lakers can still sign him on in a consultant role which means he can still recruit for us when the opportunity comes and still be around our team. |

Just give him a spot on the bench as a "special" assistant and let him roll with the players as he's been doing the last 2 years. He's been more of a coach than a player for us anyways. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.
