Great effort tonight. Welcome back Dennis, sorely missed.
Got to shoot better when it counts to beat the likes of Nets/Clippers, but the Lakers do have that extra defensive gear when they need it. I would still get a rim protector to save Lebron’s legs and as insurance for AD.
But tonight Lebron served as an elite rim protector and rebounder. He may have to do it in the playoffs too when AD gets a rest.

Glad we won. Granted, it's against a team that's more injured than we are, with absolutely no paint presence. It helped that the rest of the Blazers were cold from the field, while the Lakers bottled up Dame.
Good "welcome back" game for Dennis. _________________ ZOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!
DS is important to this team because he’s basically our only guard besides THT who actually can create advantage for himself with the ball. THT’s inability to shoot and propensity for dumb defensive mistakes make him problematic to depend on. Glad DS is back.

To state the obvious having Dennis come back is huge.
Night and day. 🙏🏀🙏🏀🙏💛💜💛💜💛
Sure some of those L’s we took were bound to happen but just the confidence in this team having Dennis back.
Him being a certified bucket takes off soo much pressure on guys like Caruso, KCP ext. they could go back to focusing on lockdown defense.
Sad to see Wesley go back to his complete non existence again ☠️☠️☠️

We shot 26% from the 3 and still won tonight
Portland’s defense is super trash.
Enes Kanter, the ultimate Lakers/Lebron hater is super washed. An even in his prime he was never known for his defense.
Him being the anchor for Portland pretty much shotguns their defense to Doom 😂🤣🤣😂
With that said still credit to how the Lakers responded coming out of halftime and Dennis’ impact.
He has few good games and few bad games. So far DS with 2 assists. is there any starting PG in entire league with lesser assists than DS?
Dude missed a grip of games and came back and has 20+ point game. Please
I called him to step up.. And he did!
Nice...I'm just going to add to Federer's remark that to question DS regarding assists is just silly. That is not what he is asked to do. What he adds is a dimension the Lakers do not have with him and AD out - a legit consistent threat to attack the basket. He also has it in him to be an energy bug and play solid D.
We saw that tonight, it made the difference. It helped the Blazers are hurt as well, but let's not kid ourselves that without a player like DS to play with LBJ when AD is out, this team will struggle.
Dennis coming back opens up the offense more because without him and AD, outside of Montrezl, everyone else has been used in the offense as a spot up shooter and a spot up shooter only, and that is easy to scheme for when you're only worried about the offense coming from one guy. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Can't believe analysts were bigging up this Portland team.
It was a good win but the Blazers didn't have CJ or Nurkic... or Zach Collins so it's not a true reflection of the team... just like the Lakers are without AD.
Portland was just chucking threes and hoping Kanter could outrebound three guys.

Especially when none of the long shots were dropping
Lakers win 102-93. Battle of two teams dealing with injuries. Lakers no AD. Blakers no McCollum (or Nurkic). Team was after it on defense, especially in second half when they held the Blazers to all of 36 points. They started doubling a red hot Dame above the 3, forcing him to get the offense started over bigger players guarding him, and it stalled them.
Lakers 3 shooting is still awful (25%); as were the Blazers (29% on 37 shots).
Will take the W. With DS Team will be much more competitive moving forward until AD returns.

Clearly shown tonight. Folks will doubt due to Blazers being injured as well, but this team will now be much more competitive.
DS was a difference maker as he impacted both ends of the court vs Blazers.
On defense, he hustled, rotated and pressured the ball.
Offensively, DS finished with 22 points (6-14 FG / 1-2 3FG, 9-9 FT), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers.
