Quote: | Over the next 23 years, a nation of fans would join in Williams' wonder, as Aaron was transformed from a raw, cross-handed line-drive hitter into the game’s most prolific force. A Hall of Famer, Atlanta’s first professional sports star, and, in a soft-spoken way, an agent of change in the post-Jim Crow South, Aaron came to embody the city as he embodied the Braves. |

I still remember the anticipation of him hitting number 715 and him doing it against the Dodgers quite well.

I didn't know he started his major league career hitting cross handed. RIP Hammering Hank _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

RIP Hammerin' Hank! As far as I'm concerned, you still hold the HR record. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

I was at home watching the game with my first girlfriend. It was off Al Downing. It was a relatively shallow fly ball that Billy Buck damn well nearly hauled it down. |

A Jackie Robinson fan whose boyhood team was the Dodgers and came in to tryout. The Dodgers are not impressed and send the kid home: Hank Aaron

RIP, Hammerin Hank. The baseball world has suffered a downright cruel rash of deaths in the past year. |

Thanks for the memories. RIP Hank Aaron.
And reminded again how lucky we were to have grown up with both Vin Scully and Chick Hearn. |

I'm seeing some sentiment on Twitter to re-name the Atlanta Braves to the Hammers. Of course, we already saw the WFT drop its moniker, the Cleveland Indians are doing the same, and teams like the Chiefs and Braves have come under fire as well.
The Braves already have a tomahawk as part of their logo/what's on their uniforms. It would be a relatively simple switch to make the tomahawk a hammer. Interesting. |

RIP he lived a long and interesting life.
Although my first thought was didn't he take the vaccine two weeks ago? Now he's dead.
This isn't going to help convince people to take it. |
