Great stuff.
He still needs to grow in a few areas..
Runs up the court with his back to the ball handler..
Poor off-ball defense..
Presses on off shooting nights, instead of altering his shot selection and energy in other areas.
Passes are off target as well.
Aside from that he's pretty good for a 22 year old..
So what do we think his upside is at this point. I still see potential superstar.
Him being only 22, and putting up all-star numbers while making the all-star team.. I wouldn't rule out superstar. And that's based on him being 22 years old primarily, and hungry for growth.
I was of the mind that he had perennial all-star potential.. If he continues to improve at the current rate he has superstar potential. Maybe he settles somewhere between the two..
I'd like to see him care more on defense though. When he was with us you could tell he didn't like being scored on. Now it doesn't seem to bother him at all. Gentry is partly to blame, but hopefully that's rectified.
^^ I was a BI naysayer but I think he's well on his way to being at least a PG13 type player. I personally think his iso game is WAY ahead of PG13's. _________________ KOBE
Has there ever been a guy that suddenly increased his FT% 20% in Year 4 after being pretty consistent the first 3 years? BI's stroke has become so much more reliable this year. I wonder if this is the BI we would have seen post ASG last year as he was playing like this then, though sample size was incredibly short.

BI had a couple tough in and out 3's that could have sealed a victory in regulation
Could have but, he has a coach that encourages poor shot selection. They take 3's even when they aren't open. I would have preferred he hadn't taken some of those shots.

Unlike Lonzo, I believe the stroke has always been there for Ingram. Since Summer League in his second year, I thought his shot form has been wet. I'm not shocked that he's a good 3-point shooter, nor am I shocked that he became a solid FT shooter. What I am shocked at, absolutely shocked, is that he's basically turned into prime Magic Johnson at the FT line. His spike in FT % is stunning.

Lets see if the Pels give Ingram a DLO sized contract. My guess is they like what they see and will give him the $20 million + a year. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions!

He really needs to get some weight to reach his full potential, especially on D.

I agree that his defense was better when he was with us, but I would not rule out that it's related to the WAY bigger offensive role and responsibilities that he's having with the pels.

You're probably right.. most likely a combination of that and Gentry.

He is already putting up superstar like numbers. What gets him there is winning. That's the only difference. Maybe that comes with improved defense. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service
Both Ball & Hart outscored Ingram last night, but Ingram did score 5 points in the last 74 seconds in a 6-point Pelican win, so having an off night was nothing to worry about, happens to everyone...! _________________ “Always remember... It is obvious that he is the go-to guy when they need a bucket because of his ability to create his own shot.
I am interested to know what he's eating during this long ass break... in New Orleans. Same with Zion.
I wonder if he'll gain that extra 5-10 pounds to help his physique a bit, at least in terms of absorbing contact better. He always seems to come back stronger after longer breaks (see previous all-star breaks), with the exception being the last one since he hurt his ankle and was limited in the all-star game.
BI's been adding size since the down time. Zion's lost weight and toned up, BI and Zo have gained it and been building it. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
