huge DLO fan here. That's not going to happen. |
Whether it does or not, which it will, I'd take a 23 year old DLO over a 30 year old Westbrook. |

It would mess with Ball's development. |

If Westbrook couldn't win with Durant and Harden... what guarantees a win with our new guys. An amazing freak of nature athlete that tries hard but doesn't play the type of team ball I like to see. And because he relies so much on athleticism more than pure skill... he will only become more mortal during his last huge contract.
I'd only want him if Ball and Russell both look like flops... but as I said he's just not my type of player. |

We're in very good position. No need to trade for anyone. Be patient! |

Shocked by how many people wouldn't consider this particular deal if Thunder actually agreed for some reason. Do you guys realize who Russell Westbrook was this past season?
I get the long road with developing the young guys and all, I'm totally here for it, but if you can somehow get Westbrook with PG coming over in 2018 with enough young assets left to dump contracts AND develop... Dude. Come on.
Only thing that makes me even hesitate is that the Warriors and Cavs exist. _________________ Austin Reaves

I think Westbrook is overrated. Pads his stats, doesn't play defense, and absolutely needs the ball on offense - no way he can play off-ball. So no, I wouldn't trade those pieces. It's the antithesis to what Luke wants to build.
I would trade Randle+JC (Randle will have to be re-signed next year and it will be a big payout, and JC is going to be 26 and has shown little improvement and he doesn't do anything exceptionally well) for PG, but that's about it. Indiana has no leverage now that it's looking more and more that PG is leaving. |

No way. Anyone who would pull the trigger doesn't realize that there isn't much upside to the team he plays on. Granted he doesn't have much help now, but he did have KD before, and Harden earlier in his career. That athleticism of his won't do him any good later in his career, unless he develops a jumper. That said, why trade young players, two of which we don't know how they would be 2-3 years from now, for a player who has just entered their prime. So many Lakers fans have this fascination of just wanting a star right away. Let's have some patience for once, granted our franchise has never been in this type of rebuild before. The ball is on our court (no pun intended) for us to set ourselves up very nicely within the next couple of years. |

The Lakers definitely would do that even if it were just for the star power/ratings alone. I would do it also. Can't imagine too many teams refusing to trade a few decent young prospects for an undeniable HOF'er in his prime. I see Ingram and the #2 (Ball) as the best of the young assets anyway, with only DLO being on a similar level. |

GT, did you read it correctly? That's D'LO, Randle and Clarkson! As in 3 young pieces for a Robin who was ditched by his Batman, and it's starting to look like a good decision. Surprise you're a YES for this poll. I respect your posts and hardly disagree with you, but I think you've lost your marbles GT! Lol!
We do differ in that I'm a stickler for FG%, whereas you always ask, "We talking about FG% in 2017?" For me, its a barometer. It was hard enough winning with Kobe who, in his prime, shot around 45/46%. So I don't get excited over guys like Westbrook and PG13, who are like Kobe, but not quite. Even their career shooting shows that they are like Kobe, but not quite. It was hard enough to win with the 2nd greatest shooting guard of all time. So I already know what's gonna happen with guys like WB and PG13.
These guys are 27/28 years old, we've seen what they can and can't do, and I think they are dead ends man. The triple doubles are nice, but ultimately, it's a make or miss league, and Westbrick will shoot his average, which is low 40's, in a 7 game series and it won't be good enough. So will Paul George, and if you're thinking of teaming them up, it won't do any good. That's two low 40's shooting Robins. It didn't work with KD, it ain't gonna work with PG13. KD could have made it worked though because he's the 50% Batman you need.
I rather build a passing team with efficient players and sharp shooters. Where we're currently headed is more like the Warriors blueprint and I think that's the right way. To me Westbrook or PG13 is the Kobe way, but we already know they're not him. If we go that route, I rather read a brand-new book where I don't know the ending, Markelle Fultz. If Boston passes on him, then I'd like to see how that story unfolds.
You have to go back to 2001, which is the last time a low 40's chucker lead a team to the finals. Be patient, swing for the fences! |
