From Sam Smith NBA.Com.
Quote: | The Lakers also would love to dump one of those big contracts that resulted in a management change. The talk among general managers is you can pretty easily get D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle. Then simple. You give the Pacers Luol Deng to match salary with George and then throw in two former lottery picks, one from the Big 10 and the other from nearby Kentucky, and the Pacers can sell that as a rebuild. You think Larry Bird was leaving if they weren’t going to rebuild? The Pacers maybe send someone useable back. Maybe Glenn Robinson. Maybe C.J. Miles if he doesn’t opt out. The Pacers need to get something and the Lakers are the only team that can afford to give. |

We are going the hold 'em! The FO is in no rush and George's people agree. Time is on our side. |

no need to trade for PG when you can get him in a year for nothing. besides, the guy is not going to lead the lakers past the warriors at any point. |

If D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle are so easily obtainable, why is it that they haven't been acquired? |

Pure speculation and click-bait.
George's peeps have already suggested that we not spend our assets at this point.

this would be dumb. trading dlo in any capacity right now, would be dumb. yes, he has been inconsistent, but to ignore his potential is insane. when he's focused, he scores effortlessly and plays offense beautifully; also plays well on defense. when he is focused, he's pretty hard to stop. now, if he doesn't pan out this coming year, maybe still inconsistent, then I could understand people say "trade him," but you add paul george to dlo, ingram, randle, JC, nance, zubac (and perhaps lonzo).... deng and moz is off the books at that point. |

Exactly. Patience. We are one year from putting together a monster team. Or try to sweat the Pacers out. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

The bait is strong with this one. _________________ Lakers Offseason Goal:
- Draft Zach Edey (or Kel'el Ware)
- Sign Jonas Valanciunas or Nicolas Claxton
- sign and trade DLO to not lose value
- sign a coach that’s not an idiot
Call it an offseason |

The only way it makes sense is if it's Turner and George, except at that point the lakers would have to add more _________________ Kobe |

Why should we gut our young talent? Let them get another year of experience together in Luke's offense then assess what we have after the season. If it makes sense, just reserve a max slot for him then sign PG13 outright this summer.
I personally want to see Lonzo, Russ, and BI grow together. |

We'll just wait until 2018, thanks.
Funny part is, if the Lakers decide to trade DAR and Randle for PG13 (roughly speaking), it's easier to argue DSJ and Fox at #2. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

The trade is pure speculation, but the info about Julius and Dlo availability is aligned with other reports.
In Julius case it is kinda obvious given his contract situation, he is the clear choice because his departure help us in the cap management department and he may have more value than Clarkson.
Russell availability is more more difficult to understand, there may be something really going on behind the scenes. I mean, he is far for untouchable, but the way it was exposed is almost like if we are shopping those guys.
Good signal is that they are still here, so we are not taking any deal. If a good opportunity raises you just capitalize and go ahead, that is why you keep assets. |

What if the Lakers try and get 5 and 10 from Sacramento so they can still get one of the top 5 guys and trade the 10 to Indiana as part of a decent but not great deal for PG. Maybe 10, 28, Clarkson, Black, Brewer?? |

When they say easy attainable what they mean is we are willing to listen to your offer
"Hey I want Dlo, would you take X"
"Interesting, let me think about it"
"Hey I want Ingram..."
*Click*
"Hello?!?!"
That's the difference |

Pretty sure I've lost some brain cells after reading this crap. Yeah let's trade two young assets just to get rid of Dengs's contract some can trade for a guy we can sign next summer. Makes a lot of sense Sam Smith. |

Jrue is a guy who is fool's gold.
While he is a good player and seemingly a good guy also, he simply gets hurt way too much to count on for a full NBA season.
If you sign him, you are basically getting a part time player. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
