|
|
I been thinking of buying a car with a CVT car transmission. My question is, does this operate just like a automatic transmission or do you need to know how to hand a stick like a manual transmisssion? I know its a dumb question, but hey I don't know alot about cars!!!!
Thanks for any help you can provide!
(P.S. I found this article on it but I'm still not sure!)

It's like an automatic. You don't need to shift while accelerating. No clutch.
My question is, which car is the CVT for? Some carmakers make good ones. Others? Not as high quality. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

I had a CVT on my Peugeot moped back in the 70's and Honda Pilot FL400 in the 90's.
You treat it like an automatic, nothing on your end to do.
Unlike an auto or manual, you will never feel it shift because it never does.
Instead of multiple gears like a manual or auto, it's basically one gear that changes its size to do the job multiple gears do. |

The car is Nissan Versa.

I like small cars and this one I like the most because it has a little more power and the other small cars in the market, like the Honda Fit. Plus it has really good gas milage. |

Alright. Versa's have been out for awhile in Europe so I wouldn't expect any problems at all.
If it was a Mini Cooper on the other hand... there would be some issues.
Have fun with the new ride. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
