I don't think everyone proof reads every sentence they type over the internet. It's already a sad day for the NBA and its fans. Why rub salt in the wounds?
Or should I say, why rub slat in da wound.s? |

At this point, anything is possible.
The owners played their cards too strongly, showed no desire to compromise and now, they have left it in the hands of others to reach an agreement.
I started off with a leaning towards ownership in this dispute but after seeing how disingenuous their posturing has been, they have driven me 100% away from them.
This is the beginning of the end for the NBA. I won't stand for all this BS and there are going to be a lot of fans who feel like me. I feel extremely bad for Kobe because all he wanted was to solve the issues so he could play.
Oh well, not to be. Perhaps #6 will never occur either?????? If I was ANY top NBA player, I would look for a temp contract in Europe or elsewhere and consider jumping ship if the money is good enough. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! This honestly is probably the first time I ever criticized someone for their spelling - and no offense to OP, but it was more of a shun to his asinine prediction than his spelling. |

I had this same thought initially. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. Then, to do 'dat on 'da offensive end. It's like 'Damn, I can't score on him AND he about to bust my ass." |

No, not sad. My life is pretty much the same. The ones who are sad are all of those who rely on the NBA for paychecks. The players will be fine, but for the grunt workers it could be a bare Christmas. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Depending on how much worse this becomes, this is pretty much the end of the Kidds and Garnetts and any other star talent drafted in the 90s. Even if they don't retire, they won't really be effective by the time the games come back and players get back in shape.
And I'd be mostly okay with that, except the stars drafted in the 00s only managed to lead a team to 1 (suspicious) championship. No wonder nobody misses the NBA. |

I could see him playing overseas.
But retiring from the NBA?
No way, he has unfinished business in the NBA and he's not going to walk away forever because of one lost season. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

That will happen the summer of 2014, not now. He will play oversees if he gets the money he wants. If not, the NBA will seal a deal during the summer so they can send players to the Olympics.
At this point it would be nice if Kobe took a year off and then got it going in the Olympics. He would be fresh and a little trained from the Olympics before next season. Then the Lakers have 2 full years left to hopefully get Kobe a couple more rings or one and then retire from the NBA. |

on the good sides: kobe brings happiness elsewhere.
nuh, pro basketball will not die.
I can see other sane investors forming new NBA league when Bron, Wade, Kobe, Howard, DWill, CP3, Amare, Melo, Dirk, Pau, KG, Pierce, Rondo, that craziest dunker from clippers, and so on can bring you good $$$. _________________ Kobe's Top 5 Dunks, 81 points, MJ last gm @Staples |
