I like the addition of 30 days. Seconded. |
Thirded?
edit: okay, damn, DMR beat me to it.
So, let me try again:
Fourthed? |

I'd rather it be a length of time. All this means is newbs are going to spam, spam and spam until they can start a thread. Hijack threads, revive dead threads, spam gameday threads, etc. I've seen this attempted on other forums and all it leads to is spamming. A length of time cannot be overcome by spamming. Nothing too ridiculous, 30 days sound reasonable. |

If this is to prevent trolling, I am 100% in it. I never understand why there was a post count in some of the forum I go through, but now it all make sense. |

Like I said, we're going to evaluate it and tweak it if necessary. Adding various elements of time and/or posting in distinct threads is a possibility. The final criteria may be something like 100 posts and at least one month, with the 100 posts coming from at least 25 separate threads. But first we want to keep it simple to establish a baseline.
The spam (post padding) problem will be solved with diligence. If we see people doing that in order to get to 100, then we'll boot them. Maybe not right away -- maybe we'll let them go through the effort to get to 100, then boot 'em and delete their posts right when they get there. I want a process reminiscent of Sisyphus. |

I doubt I would have started posting here if that was the policy way back when. What about long time lurkers who want to start a thread? Also don't people actually connected to the organization post here occasionally? I remember one players agent posted on here a couple times to try to sell some of his stuff when he got traded. |

Maybe have a new forum for NOOBs where they can start threads and mods can move them if the thread seems worthy. |

Agreed on all points. Glad to see you guys have a solid plan, now in the words of Kobe, go out and execute! Haha, but seriously, appreciate the hard work you guys are putting in to make my favorite site even better. |

Seems to me that would add to the workload. _________________ Just Say No To "Thread Crapping" |

This sucks because the new fans that want to say hello with a new thread won't be able to, and also, long time lurkers won't be able to come out of the shadows and make some of their very good posts.
But it does get rid of the trolls, i guess. |
The solution for that is having them post in the welcome thread for newbie's/lurkers. |

Kind of conflicted about this, my first post was in the Off Topic forum when I had trouble with an order with lakersstore.com and I got advice which helped me resolve the problem. |
