Friday 6pm PST (note the time)
TV: KCAL
+ Lets get some revenge and BUILD up on that 1-game win streak!
+ Defend the trey!
+ At least they don't have to worry about Channing Frye, who's Suspended for this game
+ Here's a quote from Suns scrub Jared Dudley, Quote: | “Everybody in Phoenix seems to dislike the Lakers which definitely gets us excited about playing them,” reserve Jared Dudley(notes) said. “But I think any time you’re playing one of the league’s best teams you’re going to get up for it.” |

I have family who lives in Arizona and they are most certainly Laker fans. It should be a good game....even without Frye, they still have Nash, Amar'e, Barbosa, one of the Lopez brothers, and others. It won't be easy for the Lakers but nothing this month is. _________________ The killer in me is the killer in you! |

btw, as far as defense goes, getting back on transition D and matching up is #1 on the coaches list.
on screen and roll defense we're going to try and switch everything, which means that some times bigs will be required to hedge and force nash wide, look for andrew to make life hell for nash tomorrow. _________________ "i was born down in the valley where the sun refused to shine, but i'm climbin' up to the highlands, goin' to make that mountain mine" ~ Lakers, 2011 |

theres a big difference between a 2-2 or 3-1 season series.
lets go for the latter, squash these scrubs. suns are quite below the elite of the nba, i'd consider it almost embarrassing if we dont come out ready to go. _________________ "I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. They should print this out and post it in the locker room. |

If Drew plays the screen/roll like he did in the 3rd and 4th quarters of the Toronto game, we're gonna be in great shape to get the W.
His show-and-recover was excellent. He showed great quickness and decisiveness. _________________ Everything. Changes. |

andrew's pick n roll defense was textbook in the second half of that game. on one play, particularly, it forced toronto into a TO.
andrew is starting to show what kind of force he can be on the defense end. don't be surprised to see andrew get some nice minutes in the 4th quarters of games down the stretch.
he'll be on of the keys in our efforts to defend our title, that's for sure. _________________ "i was born down in the valley where the sun refused to shine, but i'm climbin' up to the highlands, goin' to make that mountain mine" ~ Lakers, 2011 |

This could possibly be a first round preview. Im guessing we will face the Spurs though since they are without Parker until the playoffs I believe so I think they will drop to 8th.
I keep waiting for the Lakers to start imposing their will on teams. This is a team I think we can clearly dominate. Hopefully it starts now. |

Can you believe we're only 1.5 to 2.0 favorites?

I'm actually surprised we're favored. Usually we aren't against better teams on the road.

Use our size advantage to our advantage by getting Gasol the ball.
Control tempo.
Run the offense - move w/out the ball, dive, cut, use the clock by usinng Gasol in the post as he is our best out of post passing big man.
Control tempo.
No isolations - play team ball by running the offense through Gasol.
Control tempo.
No early jumpers and pass the ball to Gasol.
Control tempo.
Take smart, high % shots like shots for Gasol in the post.
Control tempo.
Make them adjust to our game instead of us adjusting to them by running the offense through Gasol.
Control tempo.
Play defense with energy by using Lamar at the 4, Gasol at the 5.
Get back in transition D by using quicker lineups.
Quick, decisive rotations and help the helper on screen/rolls by using quick smart players like Odom and Gasol.
Talk, talk, talk. |
See we agree on how the team should play. Just follow the game plan but with Gasol over Bynum in the lineups.
Bynum's play in Toronto was better defensively, but if Gasol was in, it wouldn't have taken a last second shot by Kobe because the offense runs better with Pau then with Drew and we would have had a much larger lead.
I want to see the offense giant we used to be with Gasol a true passing big man at the 5. _________________ Kevin Love. 2015. |

Yeah, but they may want to control the tempo a bit. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know
