me too! it was always one of the highlights of my summer. ten bucks front row seats and the chance to see all the laker rookies. still bummed all the pro teams left. so many good times.
and not just the games, but getting the rare chance to be fully emersed in bball's behind the scenes stuff. one of my favorite memories was sitting next to kiki vandeweigh as he scouted players. i learned so much watching what he was watching. |

When do we find out who is on our roster? Must be soon, no?
So far we have what, Toney Gaffney and Sun Yue? Anyone else? _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks” |

Oh, right Elonu. That makes 3.
Unfortunately my favorite guy that went undrafted, Paul Harris, is going to play for the Cavs.

I still think Josh Shipp will play for our summer team. Mata played for us last year. |

A couple of guards I wouldn't mind seeing on our squad:
Quote: | Jerel McNeal, Marquette
Being named First Team All-Big East - especially considering how dominant 16-team conference was last year - is certainly nothing to scoff at. Four of the five other selections (Hasheem Thabeet, Terrence Williams, DeJuan Blair and Sam Young) were drafted within the first 39 picks, and the other, Luke Harangody, opted to return to school. McNeal, a four-year starter at Marquette, averaged 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game as a senior and should have a fighting chance to make a roster if he excels on a summer league team.
Curtis Jerrells, Baylor
Jerrells was largely responsible for building Baylor's basketball program back to respectability. The lightning-quick 6-foot-1, 200-pound point guard suffered a bit from the depth of the point guard class. If he had come out in a different season, particularly last year where he was viewed as a possible early-second rounder, Jerrells likely would be on an NBA team right now. |

Are those other players you'd like on our summer league team or guys that have actually agreed to play for us? |

Never mind, double clutch. Hadn't seen your previous post.
According to someone at clublakers.com, Keith Langford is playing on this year's summer league team. |

Good idea for Ammo to play. He hasn't played much for a looooong time.
As for Sun, I assume he will be a part of the team. He needs game experience too and it will give the coaches another chance to evaluate him. If they do end up cutting him it won't be until right before the season begins.
Personally, I'm excited to see what he can do with his new body. His main problem was his lack of strength for the NBA game. Hopefully 20 lbs of muscle will allow him to show off his skills without simply being pushed around. _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks” |

Last I heard it was up in the air between playing for the Lakers and playing/training with China. |

Yeah, bought the front row seat one time when Gilbert Arena was a rookie. Only seating front row, we can see how fast and strong and wonderful athleticism all of these players possess. these are not even top player but i was in awe the whole time.
Imagine that one day i can afford a front row Laker game. I'd happily die.

Ammo's agent said he was going to play on our summer league team. I heard him on the radio today. |

Sun Yue is not playing for the Lakers this summer.
Quote: | Houskeeping note: Sun Yue playing for Chinese national team

Quick follow up that I was worried would get lost in all the free agency news.
Lakers rookie Sun Yue is playing for the Chinese national team this summer and will not participate in the Lakers summer league.
The Lakers have until the first week in August to extend a training camp invite to Yue. Though they clearly would've preferred to see what Yue could do in summer league, they seem to understand his commitment to the national team.
If Yue is invited to training camp, there is a $100,000 kicker in his contract. If he's on the opening day roster, his contract becomes guaranteed for next year.

Oooh, bad move Sun. I have a feeling we will never see him now. Hopefully he owns for China this summer and we invite him to camp. _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks” |
