I'm in flux. One mind says to go all out and send a message to who ever comes next. Another says a decisive win will be sufficient. Limited minutes for Pau and Kobe. I want Andrew to get as much PT as he can to get his rhythm and wind back. Playoffs begin on the 18th. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Play Drew four about 32-35 minutes, give Shannon and Jordan an even split of about 36-38 of the minutes at PG, and give Powell and Mbenga about 15 a piece. _________________ "After watching Bryant and Cooper go at it for about 10 minutes West stood up, nodded at two team public-relations men he'd brought with him, and snapped, 'That's it, let's get out of here, I've seen enough. |
|
All I can say is that Im happy with the Lakers taking the Western Conference (and taking it early). The thing that bugs me is that they COULD HAVE gotten the best record in the league......if it wasnt for the Eastern Conference being so weak, the Cavs *wouldnt* have had THAT many wins.
If you look at the big picture, the Lakers won 64 (maybe 65) games against 14 teams, to which 8 of those 14 teams won 45+ games. The Cavs won 66 (maybe 67) games against 14 teams to which ONLY 3 teams won more than 45 games.
PLUS Im hoping no one forgot, that our star player, is playing and has been playing with a really messed up shooting hand AND our young Center missed 32 games or so.
SO in my "Power Rankings" the Lakers are clear winners.......IMO.
Now onto tonights game: I dont think Phil should sit our starting players, but Im against playing them normal minutes. Id like for Shannon Brown, MBenga, and Morrison to get some decent minutes because those are the guys who need a bit more experience on the floor. |

Excited for this game, but honestly, if the crowd isn't into it like on Sunday, I'll be pretty irritated. |

i want the lakers to send a message to a potential(?) playoff matchup. the biggest advantage of the jazz is in deron, so hopefully shannon brown can be effective against him defensively. farmar doesnt have the strength to match up on defense, but maybe farmar can utilize his quickness to get by deron. we'll see..
odom bynum and gasol should be able to secure all the rebounds and limit to jazz to one-and-done possessions. the jazz pretty much have no other weapons. |

Other than shaving off some minutes for the starters, Phil isn't going to allow any impression that this game is glorified practice. They have no business fearing any team, so why not beat the hell out of Utah then say, "See you back here in a few days, suckas"?
That's the professional 'tude. |

Don't worry about the Cavs... If they end up 40-1 at home, just remember who gave them the "1".
I want to make a tshirt that says "40-1", but with the "1" being made from some kind of Laker logo and colors.
Anyone have an image like that? Maybe even one of those Laker "#1" oversized foam hand things. If we meet them in the finals, I'm making that shirt. |

Game doesn't matter to me. I just want Bynum to get 30+ mins/pushed to see if can get some start minutes in him with the upcoming 4 days off. _________________ On pick and roll defense.

Kobe's 2 shots at Portland happened 5 yrs ago today. This time, it actually feels longer than 5 yrs...considering how much has happened in that span. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

It'd be nice to take this one simply to get the mental edge against this team going into the playoffs. On the other hand, it'd be even sweeter if we could take them and still give our starters a nice rest.
Either way, I predict Utah is toast. _________________ Not a legend |
