I know it is kind of weak but Pet Semetary.
As weak as that movie is the dude that got hit by the car , he spooked the hell out of me for like the next three years.
Standing over the bed watching the guy sleep spooked the sh!!! out of me. |

Salem's Lot - the one made in the late 70's. When the kid vampire was scratching at his friend's window asking to be invited in. |

To be honest, Disney movies scared the (bleep) out of me.
A lot of those movies are pretty scary for an 8 year old |

1. Nightmare on Elm St.
Freddy Kruger deprived me of sleep for about 4 years of my life. I'm not even exaggerating. I was scared to go to sleep.
2. Jaws.
I went to the beach a lot when I was young and I couldn't really go in the water because I always thought some shark was going to kill me.
3. Pet Cemetery
That movie scared that crap out of me. I had trouble sleeping because of it.
4. Candyman
I can at least watch all of the other movies that I listed above again, BUT no way I'd EVER watch Candyman again! _________________ (\__/)

I love Howard the Duck! He's so cute! It reminds me of my
childhood. I watched that movie a lot when I was really young.
Howard the Duck is one of my "Movies that you like, but are too embarrassed to admit it". Someone should make a thread like that. _________________ (\__/)

My girlfriend won't watch the Exorcist to this day!
What movie(s) scared you when you were young? |
I suppose Exorcist will be on many lists. Scared the shh out of me. Great movie now, an example of the artfulness of many 70s movies that it had a real story and the exorcism scenes were really a backdrop (never happen today).
The vamp in Salem's Lot was freaky to me at a young age. That Fer was harsh to a 5 year old when he popped on the screen. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

I still can't watch the Exorcist. Although it's quite tame by today's standards that movie gave me the heebeegeebees as a kid. I think it has something to do with growing up in Catholic schools.
On a side note, I love gorey horror movies esp. zombie flicks. |

It - Was freakin terrified as I watched. I was visibly shaking. I think I was like 13 at the time too. The spider at the end was terrible though. The book was just as scary... maybe even more so.
Poltergeist - Once again... a clown. And the creepy priest dude.
Exorcist - Didn't watch this until I was in my 20's when they re-released it in the theaters with new footage. Safe to say I just about shat myself. I can't even see that damn face without freaking the hell out. And the sound and music in the movie was incredibly eerie. The book was much scarier than the movie.
As a youngster, it would be "I saw what you did and I know who you are".
As an teen the original Halloween. Enjoyed the scene where the girl got in the car and noticed the fog on the inside of the windshield as Mike Meyers was coming up in the back seat. My buddy and I watched people in the parking lot as they got in their cars, and every one looked in the back seat. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

When Jason jumps out of the lake at the end of Friday the 13th scared me as a kid and it still gets me every time even though I'm in my 20s. |

i recently saw the orphanage which was pretty scary. used a lot of old school tactics to scare you...instead of the cheap thrill from something popping out. |

As a kid I can say that The Exorcist scared me. The whole being posessed by a demon frightened me since I did grow up in a religious family. That being said, I'm now a HUGE Horror fan. I can't get enough of them movies. |
