One thing I've seen other boards do is restrict viewing of the board to registered members during big events. Obviously, when something like today's trade goes down, LG is going to get hammered, and it's tough to have any discussion with other board members when so many anonymous lurkers are bogging down the site. Obviously, people can still register if they want to read or discuss, but doing this might make it so the rest of us can have some discussion.
By the way, I do want to say that even though the site is getting hammered, it's sweet that it's not going down completely. Keep up the great work! |

Thanks. Better suggestion... let's fix this so everyone can come on and our server doesn't bog down. Probably means a new server, but we'll see. I've got some stuff in the works to help us in this regard.
Wasn't expecting to get drilled when I woke up today, though. |

It's something I've been thinking about, but restriction is probably not the best idea. There are probably a few things we could do to change things between registered users and guests that will help performance without locking guests out completely. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |
