Don’t know how many people on here remember the alt.sports.basketball days, but Alson’s Theory says that we win the next game

By the way, I may not be able to cover the next game. So it might be a DIY night.

Your request was denied by our board. We really tried, but they were adamant on the need of a legit T&R for next game (and I'm afraid for the rest of the playoffs). I'm really sorry, hope you understand.

Home teams in playoffs of late when down 0-1 have gone apocalyptic, basically playing it as an elimination game and many times blowing opponents off the floor.

I also felt AD would get phased out tonight and he did on offense.

One does wonder if the short turn around and the heavy minutes AD and LBJ had in game 1 had some impact and if that will continue.

Kudos to Kerr with his lineup changes. Also, by Bringing Looney off the bench, it allowed him more chances to be the biggest guy out there when AD sat.

Not sure what counters Lakers have. Vando helped alot in game 1 chasing Curry. Warriors made adjustments. You have to wonder who can chase Curry and Klay around and it just not kill their legs on offense.
Good Points

These Dubs are the defending NBA Champions with 2 Bonafide HOFer in their lineup that refuses to go down easily with changes that many media pundits predicted were coming - along with the anticipated AD's decline in production.

Lakers won the first game and got back home court advantage - Mission Accomplished

Dubs played desperate at home and won - predictable. If they would have list, many people would have started to write their obituary as a title-contending team

Kerr acknowledges that Looney wasn't up to the task of defending AD. Who will Ham play when Looney is in the game - Gabriel or Thompson or both. Bambo is still having problems with his ankles?????? Having Rui or LBJ defend Looney would not be advantage

DB talks about limiting Vando's minutes, that would seem to be Steve Kerr's goal. Ham has forced Curry to be the main ball handler, hence forcing him to expend more energy. Maybe this means that DS will have more PT on Curry with Vando taking Klay to limit him getting "Open Space" jumpers. Making Curry expend a great amount of energy in every game should be our mission.

When the Dubs go with four shooters, we should be able to crush them on the boards when we are able to limit their outside shooting expertise. The first goal should be to limit Curry's effective by making him either a shooter or a passer. With our length, we should be able to shoot the gap since the Dubs have a history of being sloppy in passing the ball. If Curry or Klay go ballistic, one just has to tip off one's hat to them

Lakers ran out of energy since their schemes were working in the first quarter.

Lakers' transition defense needs to be always on high alert (our perimeter guys were seemingly a step slow that the Dubs took full advantage of)

When Draymond is in the game, his defender should be the one that is doubling and to tempt him to shoot outside shots. If Vando is guarding Draymond, DS is guarding Curry and Brown covering Klay - having anybody else shoot the ball is acceptable.

Since JaMychal Green was a strategic change for the Dubs, here are some thoughts on how the Lakers can address this.

For the Dubs, he is a big body who can stretch out to the three-point line and in the modern-day NBA, to counter AD. As seen last night, when he gets 4-5 three-point attempts a game and makes two of them down - he is effective.

He is not a shot-blocker, hence if the Lakers can slow down the pace - they will be able to attack him on offense Having LBJ guard him, that allows Vando to guard either Klay or Curry, would seem to be a logical consideration plus forcing him to create on the bounce This would allow AD to guard Draymond. If Poole or JaMychal beats the Lakers - just tip your hat.

When Looney is not in the game, Lakers need to punish unrelentlessly the Dubs on the boards to get all the Dubs frontcourt players in foul trouble.

LBJ must force JaMychale to defend him all the time

When Looney is in the game, even a Tristian Thompson pounding him in the paint would be helpful - along with Gabriel
