I didn't see the start of the game I was watching the Davis vs Garcia fight. Judging from what I read the Lakers got complacent. If that's in fact true they have to stay heavy metal whistle to whistle. A win tonight will go a long way to advancing to the next round.

With Beasley they started top locking him in game 1 on the play we most frequently run and we haven't run the counters to that for whatever reason. Additionally, he's playing a lot with Dennis who is doing a pretty crappy job passing.

I feel like Beasley has been a push defensively. We need to fine tune our execution when he's on the court to keep reminding Memphis he's there. He helps spacing, but they aren't feeling him at all.

(He's probably gone, though, just because of tax $$$ as I mentioned when we got him.)
was wondering the same thing about Beasley

Curious that when Klay is top-locking him, Klay has done more direct line drives toward the paint, something we haven’t seen from Beasley

Grizzs are executing at a high level on defense to severely Schroeder’s quick drives to the paint while still able to double team AD. Grizzs are showing why they are an elite defensive team with a DLOY with JJJ.

Good preparation for teams that are not as aggressive or elite defensively in the next round.

Can the Lakers afford to have Beasley shoot his way out of his slump?

Absolutely NOT! We’ve been asking that question for 26 games since he went 0-6 from 3pt range in his first game in a Laker uniform. It’s time to realize it isn’t a slump…it is what it looks like…especially when we get limited effectiveness on D, few rebounds, and almost no assist/steals/blocks.

Play Dlo/Reaves/Schro 32 minutes each for all of the backcourt minutes or TBjr/LW4 in limited action. Either way, Beasley should have played his last minutes in a Laker uniform.

His stats shows that during the regular season, he is a bonafide shooter.
His time in LA has shown that they haven't found a way to maximize his benefits.
During the playoffs, it has gotten worse but he does have a reputation of being a streaky shooter that can go off.
Hopefully, he will win 1 or 2 games during the playoffs
