In your opinion, how many rings do the Lakers need to win with LeBron for it to have been worth trading away all our lottery picks from years of tanking and mortgaging our future? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
I’ve said before that the bubble title was the minimum acceptable result. But some people would say that it was worth it just to break the malaise of the post-Kobe era. I don’t agree, but that’s a reasonable perspective. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved

IMO it’s not great if you have two generational level talents in LeBron and AD and only get one ring out of them. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Given his age when he joined before Kobe's passing I thought a couple minimum. But I think one is enough given his age. He played 3 seasons with injuries derailing two of them.
It's always been about who stayed the healthiest the last 3 seasons.

Well you can't control injuries as much it sucks or a weak excuse.
1 was enough... he's at the tailend of his career, and even that 1 ring almost never happened... got lucky Lakers found themselves in the bubble. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. I'm just not in love with this era of this team which isn't anyone's fault, per se. It just is what it is.
Therefore I am grateful to this iteration of the Lakers for the title that they brought to the franchise. If they can get us another that would obviously be great but I don't have any expectations either way. What I am hoping for is - for whatever this era is - I hope it becomes a more enjoyable experience overall which for me is more than *just* winning a chip (although winning a chip is obviously a part of the experience).
Didn't they have a lot of time off during the bubble season title? That's not regular. Maybe 1 during a normal season; like if we won this season, that would be enough.

One is more than some teams have ever won, like the Clippers.
Also some GREAT players go their entire careers without ever winning. And we thought Kobe would win another with Dwight and Nash. So it looks crazy when the team wins a ring and fans are unsatisfied.
I think if Kobe won a ring with Nash and Dwight, some fans still would have been saying “not enough.”

On one level, it would be amusing if the Lakers went the next 20 years without winning a title, and Lakers fans kept talking about how entitled the Lakers are to win at least three titles every decade.
1 championship makes the trade a success, as winning with the young core if that happened.
I feel 2 is about the ammount we can squeeze from LBJ's time with us, but take into account there are more teams than ever, in theory it is harder to win a championship nowadays than it was before the expansions.

I honestly thought at the time that the Big Four would get at least two rings. Two would have been enough for me because Kobe would have passed Jordan. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

The one was enough. Anymore would mean that we truly don't appreciate how hard it is to win a chip. The great Bad Boys and Isiah got 2, as great as Larry Bird and those Celtics were, he got 3. These two examples are of teams that were built an entire decade around Bird and Isiah. Lebron got 3 his entire career prior to coming to LA, and he's going to get 2 or 3 in his waning years in LA? It's possible, and it would be a testament to his greatness, but I wouldn't be shocked if 2020 was our only chip. Frankly, I was surprised how much they clicked that year. Was that lone chip enough to not miss BI, Lonzo, Russell? Based on their careers so far, yes, it was enough. Lets be real about those guys, we don't win with them. If BI is leading the Pelicans without Zion and destroying the league, then that might change my mind. None of these guys are blowing up the league. Lonzo is looking like a career support player. If you're truly special, you win some games without Zion. The Pelicans stink. BI is empty calories.
1 title in 5 years of having the 1st - 3rd best roster in the league would be disappointing.
I'd say 2-3 would be a success. Two titles outside of the "bubble excuse" that people tack onto our lone one. It's very possible too. Without ADs injury we'd be sitting on 2 right now. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

One, this is a ridiculous question. We’ve seen great teams (OKC Thunder, 2002 Kings, Nash Suns, Barkley Suns, Stockton/Malone) and top 25 players see years and decades without seeing a title. You appreciate the ones you can get, they’re never a certainty. _________________ If Brandon Knight were to come out, I would take him number 1 in the draft. - Magic Johnson Mar 27, 2011
