He has a knack for drawing fouls with his aggressive drives. Just needs to knock down those free throws. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

He’s getting calls he wasn’t before. I’m actually surprised when the reds call them beCause last year he wasn't getting them. |

Talen Horton-Tucker is going to undergo surgery to repair the ligament in his right thumb, sources told ESPN.
|
Prognosis: 3-4 months if it’s UCL surgical repair of his right thumb (of his dominant hand).
Edit: recovery/return could be cut in half with this procedure:

THT voted one of the 5 most intriguing players for 2021 by ESPN:
Quote:"Horton-Tucker's ballhandling would seem less useful with Russell Westbrook joining James -- and presumably running things when James rests -- but it's part of the intrigue. The deeper you advance, the more ballhandling you need. Horton-Tucker's jagged, stop-and-start rhythm is tough for defenders to grasp. A ridiculous 53% of his shots came at the rim -- a 99th percentile share, per Cleaning the Glass."

Like him or not. His development is pretty damn important to our success this year.
We don’t really have any other wings |

he absolutely obliterated Kawai to the point KL was questioning his own meaning of life.
His defense will be nice. |

Some video of Tucker working with Handy. It reminded me that one of THT's limitations was that he was so right hand dominant. Teams that scouted him could sit on that hand and limit him.
Now he's going to put in a month+ working with his left. Could lead to improvements in his game.
Edit - post above has some nice stuff too _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

I still cannot forget when Kobe hurt his right shoulder and his hand was a bit messed up already iirc.. He asked Tim Duncan for some tips on shooting left handed and started practicing away..
THT is more of a load than some of us remember.. Too bad we didn't keep Wes.. felt like he was a Soul Brotha to THT |

Can’t wait. Awesome news. I guess recovery is quicker when you are only 20.

THT has his work cut out for him. Making big money, and there's guys like Baze, Bradley and Reaves making vet min/way less, and doing very well. We need a defender, shooter and someone that will give us a boost around AD/Bron/Melo/Westbrook.
Wonder where THT fits with this group. What we need is a high quality defender who is able to make outside shots with a secondary ability to shot fake and drive to the basket. THT has the talent, but there's little time left to play around and wait. We need consistency now, or there's just other better reliable role players that will come in and give us that. |

In the LeBron era we’ve cashed in all of our other young talent to get more title ready vets. We added Russ as a ball handling power guard this year which cuts into the value proposition of Tucker. The only reason the assumption hasn’t been THT will be dealt is because of Klutch, but he wasn’t given a trade kicker and has our most tradable salary.
If THT doesn’t produce, he could be dealt. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

THT has the clay - but is he ready now. Like can he be a playoff performer of Caruso value? That is what we gave up to keep him. I can't see us give up on him before first giving him a chance. He's going to have to be a defender of high quality and someone that makes shots around the big 3.
If his 3 ball is still MIA he can't get minutes next to the big 3. So really a big big year for him as a ball player. |
