BJ does NOT pass the eye test, at all to me. At least Primo does but he is so young. Not exactly what we need now. Would take Christopher over him. Springer is the wild card. He seems to be all over the place in mocks. Maybe he does slip?? Awfully young as well, but has translatable qualities we could use right now. Great D.
Question is if Murphy and Springer are there, who do you take?

I have them like 20 draft spaces apart.
I think they both go top 20
That's the difference between BPA and the draft philosophies of every NBA team in the league. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
I think he looks like a future NBA player. he's young defensively but actually has flashes of savvy on that end with steals and good hands.
I'm always the cheetoh finger guy who's got a skeptical eye with Euro players handles translating - but I actually think he'll be able to dribble and run some P&R - he's not Luwawu-Cabarrot.
Maybe he's the Ingles-ish passer

I've seen the flashes with the ball handling, but need to just see more sample size in terms of comfort. But yeah, draft and stash man. He's got the tools. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
*insert big eyed shocked gif*** at me seeing Begarin is 18 with a 8'8.5 reach, 7foot wingspan, and solid gleague scrimmage tape
he's really skilled for that age and those measurables
defensive chops too right? had a nice steal at the gleague scrimmage
Yeah noticed him in the scrimmage and wondered why he wasn't invited to the combine. Just hard to get a true gauge of his talent. I thought Karim Mane from last year was an athletic talent but he went undrafted and had a non-descript covid year. Concerning that Begarin has been a sub 70% FT shooter the last 4 years.
Has the optimal physique and athleticism which shows just exactly how lacking BJ Boston is.
ESPNU has been televising many college games from this past season. Just watched John Petty and Primo have their way with Kentucky and BJ Boston.
In one sequence Boston tried to iso on Primo and got stopped cold even as he strung together multiple moves. Then on Bama's possession Primo iso'd past Boston for a layup. Boston really needs to become a 3pt shooting specialist or I believe he will wash out of the league within 3 years.

Begarin - His handling looks like a combo wing SG-SF ; but he legit has passing feel, some nice passes at the combine , some cross court.. P&R reads.. missed a roll man but made a cross court, and a pass to a lift guy from the backside corner, as the whistle blew for a foul. He has a handle that looks like it can improve with age
And I believe in his jumper, hit a couple at the scrimmage and 36.4% through 32 games on 4 attempts in his league. good stuff for his age and his stroke looks good

What happened to Vrenz? He was the flavor of the month for awhile and now I don't see his name mentioned at all.
I don't think he'd get PT with the Lakers, especially early on. Still love the highlight plays, but think he's stuck in decision-making where he's forcing passes that are home run plays, instead of seeing how the defenses adjust to him, and not opting to pass.
It's a ton of that. Otherwise, I'd be in as a developmental player. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Thanks Mike. It stuck out to me he did not workout for the Lakers.
How close do you think he is to Hedo ball skills wise, and then scoring wise?
I assume you didn't mean he'd exactly hit that skill level but .. ?
He's another 6' something guard that had a giant growth spurt in in the past 3 years.
Hedo needed time to develop that ball handling too. He needed at least 2-3 years to refine his ball handling to that level.
yea I remember him in Sac.. he had a simplified role, typical wing, pretty much a shooter then right?
I think Hedo was more fluid of an athlete, maybe he had less broad shoulders or a low butt like Luka - something about him, he was able to move so fluid like a Paul Pierce. Wagner is stiffer to me - he has some clunky moments on-ball like Kuzma; it's tough for guys that tall to be ball handlers consistently
But how do we know how fluid an athlete Franz is going to be when he's still growing into his bpdy with a late spurt? Hedo didn't look like Hedo until 23, at least 2 years into the league.
Franz is 19 until the end of August with 2 years NCAA experience under his belt.
Franz is stiffer than Kuzma even

just watched his turnovers, he thinks he's the best passer in the draft and he's far from it. he's going to need a lot of work.
yea. he's teaching him his jumper - Miller had the prototype "up and over" release, or "elbow above the nose follow-through", this is what gets great arc. This is what made me my high school team's shooter
And Miller also didn't dip
Wasserman tweeted that the Knicks are interested in Hyland and McBride if they can’t move up. They pick right before us, so on draft night we’ll have a better idea of how things are trending around that point.

How do you feel about shooters with a low set point (Cade, Tre Mann, Kispert) vs. high (Grimes)? I would believe the low set point reduces the margin of error as it normally produces a lower arcing shot. This seems more applicable to 3pt shots vs. midrange.
I do like what Miller is doing with the more vertical arm extension.
