Never really liked his game all that much. There's a reason why ATL and OKC let him go to easily. |
And thankfully they did. He is not perfect, but the lakers need him |
Yeah but is he worth 20 mil? You can get a PG that has very little to no flaws for that type of money. |
We can’t offer anyone else more than MLE, so what choices do we have? Even if you want to trade him, we need a partner |
What’s our cap situation the following year? I wouldn’t tie up that much money to an undersized, inconsistent guard who is better off the bench. |
We have no cap space, you either sign DS or trade him if possible. There is no other way to find a starting PG other than MLE or vet min. |

Welp, effort came up in the end, just not enough fire power. |
They’re better off leaving them wide open. The Hawks have missed almost all of those ones. |

Nope.
Lakers need to dig deep. Kuz needs to live up to one of his ridiculous post game quotes and be the man lol |

If KCP and Kuzma put in this kind of turd games, the Lakers won’t win anything. Kuzma and KCP haven’t done anything this game. Zero!! |

He has been invisible today. I didn’t realize he has played most of the game. |

I have a feeling they'll come out focused for the next game. Trez not going to let them play like a little punks. |

So this game was very wack to say the least.
Losing is whack. Losing for the reason that we did it is very whack.
Depending on the extent of the situation it could escalate to extremely wack but we shall see on that. |

John Collins is a pretty good player. Hawks were smart not to trade him. |

Lakers lose 99-94.
The game itself won't be as much remembered as what happened - LBJ in the second quarter got hurt. Appeared ankle related. There are diverse opinions on this thread about how it happened, and I will leave that alone. But what did happen is this: He did not play the rest of the game, and we do not yet know how much time he will miss.
After LBJ went down, Lakers stayed competitive. In fact, were up 53-52 at the half. But then the second half came. For some reason, for three straight games now (may even be 4), the Lakers started the 3rd quarter poorly and this time it was horrific: They did not score a single point for almost the entire first 6 minutes of the third. As that happened, the Hawks slowly creeped their lead up. By the time the lakers started scoring, Gallinari started going off with run stopping 3 after run stopping 3.
Hawks length and size with Capella and Collins became even more of an issue after LBJ went down. They both had 16 boards, and were locking down the paint for alot of possessions.
Despite falling as much as 14 down, Lakers still had fight (led by Trez). Got in striking distance a couple times but down the stretch did not make run-needed shots, while Hawks made run-stopping shots.
One slight dissapointment: DS. Down LBJ was hoping he'd really step up. While he got to the line (8-9), he only shot an incredibly poor 4-15 from the field. 7-15 and...maybe they win? Shrug.
Anyway, let's just hope LBJ's injury is not serious. Going to be rough without him and AD. |
