One think you can probably feel good about is Pelinka is not just going to sit and watch....I believe he’ll do something significant....either through a trade or buyout. |

Nets hoping for a revitalized Blake. They have the best team as currently constructed so adding Blake would only help. Man Rob, your move now. |

Just a thought
Id be glad if blake goes to nets as I dont think he adds anything (other than if we meet nets in finals you just know griffin will have at least on 5-8 from 3 game to spite the lakers)
AD and Drummond - same draft class
Saw an article (reliability unknown) suggesting at least in 2015 Drummond considered AD a friend
Another article suggests Drummond sick of disloyalty from teams (pistons, cavs)
(These articles available if you search “andre drummond anthony davis”)
Lakers do have a rep of being one of the more loyal teams to its players. If he is sold on coming here to form a team (as a rebounder /d anchor big) with AD...just saying😎👍 |

I think so too. Privately, Pelinka and LBJ are probably looking at needing a couple of tweaks. |

Blake does add another dimension of playmaking for the Nets imo, not to mention his timely 3s against us if we do meet yea |

I think Blake as a small ball 5 will be interesting defensively. To say the very least.
On offense the Nets are just ridiculously loaded. |

People love to bring up DEFENSE when it comes to this Nets team... But one thing I learned from watching them is that they do enough on that end. The problem will be are the Lakers or other teams will be good enough to keep up with them offensively. Right now I just don't see any team who can slow them down on that end so far. Teams have to put up 120+ points just to beat them. |

Quote: | According to the latest Woj piece, the Nets are using a veteran minimum to sign Griffin. That means they still have the DPE to have an advantage as they chase buyout players, like perhaps Andre Drummond |
per Trevor Lane
just in case some of you are wondering |

Quote: | The Nets are using one of their veteran minimum contract slots to sign Blake Griffin per @wojespn, leaving them with both the Spencer Dinwiddie disabled player exception ($5.7M prorated) and the taxpayer midlevel exception ($5.7M prorated). |

That would likely make them the landing spot for top quality buyout guys. |

Not that it was ever a doubt, but they are definitely making it out the East. We need a move to counter what they got |

I am surprised he didn't demand the MLE or part of it. If you are giving up 13 million on a buyout you would think you expect to get some of it back. Nets owner is a billionaire. And they still had the other 5.7M to work with if they needed it. |

Imo the issue is they will make it out of the East really easy while the West will be more competitive just to make the Finals.
Buyout guys are still buyout guys:
Quote: | The history of buyout players having an impact in the playoffs is not strong.
Here’s a list of players bought out in the past 2 seasons.
Markieff Morris
Reggie Jackson
DeMarre Carroll
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Marvin Williams
Pau Gasol
Je. Lin
Ke. Faried
A. Rivers
T. Chandler |
But once they got Harden, it was basically easy path to finals. Too much firepower. |

I’m surprised at how many Lakers fans I see that wanted the team to sign Griffin. |

Let them keep signing everyone at this point... If they win it all not many will really give them that respect. But it it fails!!! |

Playoff is normally 7-8 rotation deep, so does Blake griffin takes minutes away from TCL? green? DJ?
Lakers will shorten up rotations too by playing AD and lebron more minutes
I don’t see BG changes much for the nets. Sixers and Bucks will be tough outs for them, but it all comes down to their stars. |

I don't care that they got Blake, I just wish they had to pay more. Their big moves, if available, are still on the horizon. |

First off rather Brooklyn win than the Celtics, Sixers, etc. Seems like they are loading up for the stretch run. I still think it isn't a given they are healthy come playoff time. Kyrie never seems to survive and Durant we'll have to see. If those two are not healthy they are just Rockets East.
Lakers need another big perhaps and some three point shooting. Right now Lakers 3pt shooting is awful. |

It feels like everyone on the Nets is a sniper. If the defense forces Blake to shoot long 3's instead of anybody else on the Nets then then that is a win. |
