600k more but for sure that team option will be declined. What did he achieve out if this?
Nothing.. |
No income tax in Florida makes the difference closer to $2M for the 2 years that’s a good chunk of change. |
They still pay taxes for away games. And federal tax |

Business wise, good for him. He was an integral part but we won without him so wish him luck and move on. |

Man, disappointed he didn’t sign for whatever lakers FO want, at least for a season. Oh well, good luck |

Why the hate?
He may sit out most of the season too with COVID. he secured money for a 2nd year, which Lakers can’t commit to.
Good luck, AB |

Thanks Avery. I never knew how great a defender he was until game 1 vs the Clipps. We lost a bit on defense with him gone, but we gained a lot of offense and playmaking. |

Liked him during the regular season, but he QUIT on the team during the playoffs, there is no other way to spin it!
I wanted him back, but he might have felt funny facing any of the Lakers after quitting like he did and unless LeBron, Rob and any of the players called to say they were cool with him doing that, it could have factored in to him leaving.
Too bad Rob didn't match the salary offer with the 2nd year as a Player Option, but things may work out...

If I had to guess there was something going on in the locker room and he was on the outs. The covid made a great excuse but he was probably not coming back anyways. |

Agreed. Just avoiding injury for his next contract. |

Of course he ends up on the team we beat for a chip. I liked AB and will miss watching him play, but I think it's justified that people feel salty towards him.
It's just business, but it sure stings. |

If we keep KCP,, I could give a fat rat's ass that he's gone. KCP already gives us what AB does. Between KCP/Caruso, turn their minutes up about 10 a game and you've got AB's minutes covered. Those two have already proven their playoff chops and were MAJOR contributors for our championship to boot. This guy? Not so much. _________________ KOBE |

If you opted out for your kid then why are you signing on to play this year?
I didn't mind him opting out for any reason...but I did mind him and Kyrie lobbying to cancel the season. Why does everyone have to be as scared and hypocritical as you are.
That's no dawg.
Got nothing for this dude...cant wait to play his ass come the season. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

If Matthews is healthy and productive, there wouldn't be any minutes for him, anyway. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Seemed like a good dude. Good luck to him in Miami. As long as he's not a Celtic anymore or a Clipper, I don't hate him. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

He doesn’t even fit on this roster anymore to be honest. Glad he left to pave the way for THT!
Schroeder, KCP, Carushow, and THT are already too many mouths to feed in the guard rotation. |

He's gonna get more minutes on the Heat than he would have here, which helps him get a bigger contract next year. It was the smart move. |

I am so happy he left. He betrayed the Laker uniform and that's not something to forget. And probably its something he felt and decline an option. Thank God he did it. Doesn't deserve to be here. He can have his free ring. Let it be. |
