So many Lakers fans are going to be so upset when Kuz is back next season helping this team defend its title.
Only way you get rid of DG is if a team is looking to dump a player's salary.
Lakers are not looking to take on any long term, big money deals so thats out.
They want to be players in free agency two seasons from now when legit stars are on the free agent market that they can add to Bron and AD. _________________ Everyting negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise.

1. LeBron
2. AD
3 DG
4. KCP
5. Dwight
6. Kuz
7. Caruso
8. Rondo
9. THT
10. Morris (will Likely chase bag, Jeff Green as replacement)
11. Boogie
12 Dudley (locker room guy)
That leaves 3 spots for MLE, AB, McGee, 1st or if we decide to shop those guys _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though."

The FO has some tough choices this off season. I believe there's 18 players on the roster and I'm not sure if the league will allow 18 next year(depends on the covid situation) If it was up to you, who do you let go and who do you retain?
Also who is a good FA that we can sign this year that will help keep the ball rolling for the next two years?

A champion who was clearly the best shouldn't gut their team or take on names just because their fans love to hate some players. They should run it back with virtually the same roster. People who don't like player x or whoever, need to build a bridge and get over it. The team and the chemistry proved to be a problem for every other team except Toronto. Until other teams figure out how to beat what we have, why on earth would you change it? By accessorizing like Mr Potato Head, they can mix and match to overcome any variety of lineups.
The Lakers' roster as currently constructed can beat every team in the league. Nothing has changed but the date. Let that sink in before you start randomly pushing buttons and tinkering.
Run it back instead of taking on random players who may not provide the same intangibles and put question marks into team chemistry.
My exception would be Dudley. He's a nice guy, but he brings nothing ability-wise to the table, just like way past his prime Metta (I love basketball) World Peace.

surprise player to stay: Waiters. Good scoring punch off the bench and we can keep him for cheap.
Returning Role players: Rondo, KCP, Keef, Caruso, Dwight
I think we re-sign Damarcus Cousins, Bradley opts in and we bring on 2 players, yet to be determined.
I have a strange feeling that the lakers will end up with one of these players: Victor Olidipo, Demar Derozen, Bradley Beal, Buddy Hield or Zack Lavine.
They also will end up with a Moe Harless type of player on the cheap.
So many Lakers fans are going to be so upset when Kuz is back next season helping this team defend its title.
And there were fans or supposed fans against Lebron and AD joining the Lakers with these sentiments:
1. Lebron is way past prime and is breaking down. Other players don't want to play with Lebron. Lebron and Klutch will control the Laker's organization.
2. AD is too fragile. He hasn't won anything.
Even now, I just read a homer write last night that they think BI, Lonzo, and Hart would bring multiple championships.
Here's what I think will happen which includes a salary cap decrease.
• AD will re-sign with a contract that maximizes his salaries and gives him flexibility in future years. His salary will jump from $27M to $32.5M for the first year
• Rondo will re-sign and get a pay increase from $2.8M to MLE $5.4M
• Lebron will continue to be the primary playmaker and he should defend the other team's best SG/SF/PF at his salary
• Morris will chase $. Lakers will sign his brother with the veteran exception
• DH will return on the veteran exception for a 2nd ring
• Kuzma will stay and continue to be worth more than his final year rookie salary at $3.6M. Expect him to play harder for free agency.
• Lakers are going to trade their pick to shed salary. Targets are Green ($15M), KCP ($8M), Cook ($3M), and AB ($5M). If Demarcus signs for the veteran exception, then McGee will also be a target.
• Lakers will fill out the roster with 2-way contracts and more exceptions. Average defense is a minimum.
Any room for Pau to return for one final season? What about Cousins?
I think we re-sign Cousins. Hopefully we can keep Howard as well, let Javale go. So in theory, you enter next year's playoff with the addition of Avery Bradley and Cousins(hopefully healthy, even at 70%), that's already a better team. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

LBJ is 35. We can’t assume he will be the same player next year. We need a adequate guard to take up part of his responsibilities. LBJ had to run the offense, scoring, rebound, defense......we need to unload him a bit
The toughest choices are about keeping Morris/Howard and trading Green/Kuzma.
That's what will shape our roster.
If we keep Howard, for example, I can see McGee getting traded.
Kuzma is on a cost controlled contract, but can we improve?
Waiters, Smith and Dudley are definitely gone.
AB, KCP and Rondo are opting in, IMHO
All great points.
I would love to see the MLE entice Marcus Morris to slide over from the Clippers and into a Lakers uniform to play with his brother. _________________ A three headed monster... Jeannie, Pelinka, and Ham... another terrible season.
Why do people say AD has a 90% chance of staying like there's a chance he might leave? Didn't he make it clear that he wanted to play alongside Lebron AND in LA? I mean probably every player in the league would want to be in his spot right now.
Keep Green because base on his long history of playoff performance, he probably just had a down year. Kuzma is gone (the last of our draft picks). New Orleans is going to enjoy our "first" round pick. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024

Please find a way to get rid of Danny Green. I don't care if the team pays him to stay home. Completely useless player.
LMAO Danny Green is not a one trick pony that when his shots is not dropping, he’s useless. He does a lot of those little things that makes him a winning type of player.
No he doesn't. Can't defend (or won't) anymore. Turns the ball over. Can't hit a decent percentage from 3. He's useless. Large chunks of games he didn't stop anybody and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.
USELESS.
Lol so all those times when we were outscoring opponents by 100 plus when he is in the court compare to getting out scored by 14 when he’s not in the court in all playoff was useless to you. The screens, the hustles, deflections, blocks while maintaining the spacing in our offense has no value. Danny Green is a winning type player . He’s never been a shutdown on ball defender but he played excellent team defense. I bet if he made that Game 5 shot, everyone will be singing different tune.
I have no idea what games you were watching. Useless.
I was calling for his head all year long. Even if he made that shot I would want to see him gone. One shot doesn't undo countless games where he brought no value.
When he's on the court he does one of two things. Pisses me off or is invisible.

In this playoff ,Lakers are net positive over 100 Points when he’s on the floor and net negative when he’s not playing. So he’s doing all this little things you don’t appreciate because you pay little attention to them. In offense, our spacing is better because he know how to position himself, know how to set screens etc. In defense, he slide and rotate to shooters. He defended the 3 ball better than any of our guards allowing 37% in this playoff .All those little things is big when it comes to winning especially in the playoff.
If you’re telling me he’s overpaid, yes I agree but if you’re saying he’s useless without any context then you’re just simply hating.
