DIJON KIZZEE'S INDEPENDENT AUTOPSY
CONFIRMS HE WAS SHOT 15 TIMES
Dijon Kizzee was shot at 19 times by police officers and struck 15 times -- most of which hit his body as he was already on the ground -- this according to an independent investigation by his family.
The legal team for Dijon’s family just revealed the autopsy findings and sounded off on law enforcement -- specifically L.A. County Sheriff Alex Villanueva -- claiming he and the entire department is trying to justify a blatant lack of humanity in Kizzee’s killing … which they call an execution. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Kentucky grand jury indicts 1 of 3 officers in fatal Breonna Taylor police shooting

Quote: | LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky grand jury has indicted former Louisville police officer Brett Hankison on three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment in the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor.
The two other officers involved in the shooting, Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Detective Myles Cosgrove, were not indicted.

No officers were charged directly with Breonna Taylor’s death.
A Kentucky Grand jury indicted one officer for shooting into the neighboring apartment.
The 3 wanton endangerment charges against Hankison are for Breonna Taylor’s neighbors. |

The one indictment was for firing shots through Taylor's window not for murdering Breonna in her sleep. |
The indictment was for wanton endangerment for firing into OTHER people's apartments not Breonna Taylor. This is the cop that, when the other shots were fired, he opened fire from outside on the patio and some of his shots went into other apts as well as BT's. The wanton endangerment indictment listed the persons endangered by initials, and none were BT or her boyfriend. This cop was previously fired, basically they are saying he should not have opened fire without knowing what he was shooting at and he endangered innocent people. Thankfully none of those people was hit.
NO ONE was indicted for shooting Breonna or endangering her boyfriend. They ruled that a justified shooting.
No body cams, no evidence on whether they announced themselves before breaking down the door. One witness said they did, several others said they did not. Grand jury sided with the cops who claimed they did. Took 20 minutes to get her medical care after being shot. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman |

There is a pending federal investigation into Ms. Taylor's civil rights (possibly) having been violated. _________________ Garvey, Lopes, Cey, Russell |

Sorry, yes - it was firing through apartment walls that may have endangered Taylor's neighbors. It's good that the officer was indicted for wanton endangerment and more officers should face those charges.
It's a travesty of justice that there were no indictments brought against Taylor's murderers. _________________ Under New Management |

Here's the key point about this. Kenneth Walker acknowledges he fired first. He doesn't attempt to claim he fired in response to the police. If Walker's intent was to lie about the events in order to pin all the blame on the officers, why would he not lie about being the one to initiate the gunfire? And why, if he knew there were no drugs, would he knowingly open fire on police officers first? Those two things indicate that he is entirely credible on the issue of whether the officers announced themselves in identifiable fashion. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Several witnesses claim the officers didn't announce themselves, only one did. It's disconcerting to me the many did not outweigh the one. No body cams which were supposed to be worm at all times. Ask yourself, if someone kicked your door down not announcing would you shoot and then ask who is it? Not knowing what evidence was given the grand jury leaves me with an uneasy feeling. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I read the officers shot into adjoining apartment. I didn't read anything about shooting through a window. If there was print of that I missed it.

The lack of body cams is obscene. So left with no independent evidence, having to rely on human testimony. I believe they are required to use body cams.
A report I heard said the one person who said he heard them identify themselves as police was someone in the stairwell above the cops who were at her door. That person was returning home to his own place upstairs and was still outside his apt. The other people who were in their own apartments said they did not hear it. Breonna's boyfriend Kenneth Walker says he did not hear it. So honestly, it is possible that the cops did say "police" but it was not loud enough for people inside of apartments to hear it (including BT and KW). Maybe they announced it but not well enough for people inside who were likely sleeping to hear it. Not saying it is right, the cops should have been yelling it loudly, that is on them. If only someone outside of their apartment heard it, then they were not loud enough to alert the occupants and Walker was justified in assuming it was intruders trying to break in, IMO. But if you want to give cops the benefit of the doubt, that gives you the cover to do so.
Still no excuse for them shooting her but the cops will say they did announce, no response so they broke down door which their warrant allowed and they were met by "gunfire", Walker firing a single warning shot that happened to hit one cop in the leg. So they returned fire massively and hit Breonna several times and then left her on the floor bleeding out and gasping for breath while they disarmed her boy friend and "secured the scene" and gave first aid to the cop. Her distraught boyfriend called 911, he still seemed not to know they were cops. Reportedly 20 minutes to get her medical aid. Because they did not value her life, just a Black woman who they thought was a criminal or associated with a criminal, no great loss, right? _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman |

It's all unfolding so fast, hard to know what the facts are at times. Especially with the "fake news" reporting all over the place. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman |

The AG said there was a witness who heard the officers knock, but didn't mention that that witness was only one of twelve people in the apartment - the other 11 of whom did not hear them knock - and that the witness was in the apartment stairwell when s/he heard it.
Radley Balko, the only good libertarian, noted on twitter that with the law tilted so heavily in favor of the police Taylor's murderers were not going to be indicted as they deserved. But he also pointed to the AG's unnecessary comments, which elided facts to create a virtuous narrative for the murdering officers, rubbing salt in the wounds of Taylor's family. A lot of right wingers are running with the AG's comments. _________________ Under New Management |

You guys are always bickering about things that at this point don't even matter. These bastards broke into a house and murdered a sleeping woman. They behaved like they were trying to arrest a drug kingpin. IF this man was associated with any drugs it certainly did not warrant this type of aggression. Welcome to being black in America.
I hope I'm not the only who finds this outrageous!

Exactly, it has been pointed out by many in the media that there were multiple alternatives to effecting an arrest that did not involve a warrant served in the dead of night where things can go terribly wrong - for either party. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know
