Dare I say it? Jansen time.
I think Roberts goes for it, and if he does, let's hope Jansen bombs and ends up in the doghouse. It will work out for the better in the long haul. |

Tatis
Machado
Moreland
If his cutter is not cutting, it's over.
I bet the Padres are hoping it's Jansen time as well.
Here's a question, does Jansen want it to be Jansen time?
------------------------------
Butt clenching time folks. Here we go!
1 out!
0-2 to Machado and he gets a single after battling back to 3-2

Wow, did you see that? Jansen is attempting to mix in fastballs and sliders. |

This will hurt if he blows another but Clippers kinda numbed me from all pain and anguish right now. |

This reminds me of the time I watched Charlie Hough load the bases during the ninth inning, back to back during a doubleheader at Dodger Stadium. And in true Hough fashion, he blew both leads and lost both games. |

Showed him the outside fastball, then came back with the cutter.
Crappy outing, but not enough to rid Jansen of closer status. |

High pitch count and early game tmr, hope we don't need a closer for the finale. |

HUGE game tomorrow. HUGE!
Our magic number right now is 9 with 11 games to play. If we win tomorrow, our magic number drops to 6 with 10 to play.
Tomorrow’s game is worth 3 magic numbers. Why?
Because if we win tomorrow, we win the season series and the tiebreaker. Tiebreakers are worth 1 magic number.
——————
We have May going against the Padres’ bullpen game tomorrow. Should be our advantage. |

Thanks for the above explanation regarding the extra number. I would’ve ended up asking lol.
And Jansen with the save just so Roberts will end up using him for high leverage situations in the playoffs. I feel like a clipper fan rooting for this team at times. Surely we can’t be that bad though, rfight? Lol |

Glad we won tonight. But even if we had lost...so what, the Clippers lost! LOL. I'm so joyous tonight y'all, you don't even know. |

Yes that's also true, although I can't lie, I don't have nearly as much hate for them as I do the Clippers. I would never have beckoned to the karmic gods regarding a Celtics series loss. |

Mookiebetts50 posted this in another thread by accident, moving it here for discussion:

Joe Kelly activated after completing his 5 game suspension
C. Ferguson needs an MRI on his elbow so adios 2020 for him and welcome back Scotty Alexander?
McGee and Bazooka are available to close today if necessary with Jansen's issues |
Major bummer. Love Fergie, hope it shows nothing. If it's clean, he could still pitch this year, right? |

Oh and I don't think Alexander has it ATM and should be used in low leverage until he builds back his confidence. Kolarek seems to have it though. |

Quote: | “There was an X-ray and ultrasound, and right now nothing is conclusive. We’re going to get an MRI in Los Angeles and we’ll know more,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.
“Right now, we’re going to remain in that hopeful state. It was the elbow. He felt something, but the tests and everything right now, didn’t present as a UCL, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for Caleb.”
Roberts added that there hasn’t shown signs of it being UCL injury, which would require Tommy John surgery if torn, so the Dodgers are hopeful. “All I know is that it didn’t present as such, so I’m just remaining hopeful,” Roberts added.

@kengurnick
Dustin May scratched from today's start. Brusdar Graterol will start a bullpen game. |
Looks like May is not ready yet. Bullpen game vs. bullpen game today.
Who's available for us today? We lost Ferguson yesterday. Treinen has pitched in 2 straight.
Graterol, McGee, Floro, Baez, Jansen, Wood, Gonzalez, Kolarek, Joe Kelly?
The most important game of the season and it's a bullpen game?
Ok, so maybe it's just strategy that has Graterol starting:
Quote: | Dustin May was scheduled to get the start for the Dodgers prior to the announcement. May had been coming off of an outing where he pitched just one inning, but was hit in the foot by a line drive. Tests all came back negative for May, but he needed some time to get the swelling on his foot down. It appears something has changed with that, stay tuned for updates.
UPDATE
Dave Roberts did confirm in his press conference today that Dustin May will pitch in the game at some point. Roberts liked that Brusdar could get a crack at some of their best hitters and get them off balance. The Dodgers do plan on utilizing May to take up some innings today.

That's interesting that Roberts would reveal this information. Doesn't seem like he has to or needs to or that it's helpful to let them know that May would be pitching today. Seems odd. |

I feel like 75% of Graterol's inherited runners have scored this season. His ERA is so misleading, and it's still only 3.32. His WHIP of right about 1.00 suggests as much. |

I turned the game of in the 9th when Jansen loaded the bases, I just didn't want a Dodger loss to ruin the enjoyment I was experiencing watching the Clippers loose Game 7! _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

Looking great in the biggest game of the year so far!
Roberts’ decision to start with Graterol and come in with May has worked great so far. Give credit when credit is due. |
