Lamet is a stud. Has the same fastball velocity as Dustin May, albeit with less movement. However, his slider is a plus pitch and an out pitch, whereas May's breaking pitches are a work in progress. |

And there's the lefty-lefty home run. 1-1. |

Our (3-8) hitters today:
1-16
1 walk
10k
It’s a wonder how we have the no 1 offense w/ so many players hitting around .200
Man, Rios just struck out on a pitch that hit him!!! |

That's how nasty Lamet's slider is. |

Kershaw couldn’t make it through the 3rd time in the lineup
Roberts chose Baez for a high leverage situation after dude just came off the DL?
Don’t even give him time to get the rust out? |

Once again, Dave Roberts makes the wrong pitching decision. |

Yeah give a dude time to get the rust out. Let him work a clean inning for his first stint off the DL |

In fairness, Baez has gotten a bloop fly ball and a ground ball right to Muncy, who has apparently decided this season that he doesn't want to hit OR field his position properly. |

I think trading Pederson n Stripling then keeping them backfired on us.
Both had their worst years. |

Yeah I dont think were the best team in mlb anymore...
How many players on our team are currently playing well?
Ever since we got to 30-10, we’re now staring at 3-5 in our last 8
SD Padres are 8-0 in that span (if they win tonight).
So they would have made up 5 games in 8?

That appearance is not on Baez. He made pitches. He gave up a bloop double and got 2 ground balls right to Muncy, neither of which he turned into even a single out.
Muncy has been an absolute disaster this season. |

Oh no doubt. It’s just basically whatever move Roberts makes, don’t expect it to work. |

Is Lux on the playoff roster this year?
So far he’s an automatic out |

(bleep) disaster, at least JT is expected to be activated tmr, should help some but there are major fundamental flaws within the team and too few games left to fix all of it. |

I know analytics doesn’t value batting avg but we can’t be having so many players hitting around .200. |

It's like the mid-range. Almost every champion has been loaded with guys that also hit for average. _________________ KOBE |

Yeah, I think the batting avg has been devalued too much.
There’s a reason why we struggle with men LOB. There’s a reason why we struggle with clutch hitting.
There’s a reason why Justin Turner delivers in the playoffs year after year but Bellinger and Grandal fail year after year.
Consistently high batting avg does mean that you’re a good hitter. |

Thu, Oct 22 - off day
Fri, Oct 23 - Game 3
Sat, Oct 24 - Game 4
Sun, Oct 25 - Game 5
Mon, Oct 26 - Off day
Tue, Oct 27 - Game 6
Wed, Oct 28 - Game 7 |

Game 2 tonight. We really need the win tonight. If we win, we have a favorable matchup tomorrow: May vs Paddack.
Paddack’s been off.
But, tonight is a must to give us a chance to win the season series and get the tie breaker tomorrow. |

Justin Turner back in the lineup already paying dividends.
At least Betts n Seager have some help tonight with Turner and Pollock.
Muncy got a day off in the most important game of the year now and a righty on the mound.
Things have changed!
—————
Welcome back clutch hitting Turner - 2-2 so far.
Turner’s just a good hitter and that’s why you won’t see him finishing the year batting .220
—————
Out 1-4 guys are locked in tonight. (4-8)
Unfortunately, our (5-9) guys might not be. (0-4, 2k)
—————-
Spoke too soon! Bellinger delivered! (2-0) Dodgers!
We’re making Davies work. Let’s get into that struggling bullpen of theirs. |

Pederson is just so bad right now
Turner 3-3.
Wow!!
------------------------
Yeah, I don't think there's any question who our no. 3 pitcher is now. It's Tony Gonsolin! |

Gimme your predictions now. Is Roberts going to trust Jansen to close this game out since he's "still our closer"?
I say nope.
-----------------------------
Gonsolin was dealing, only 90 pitches. Roberts takes him out for some reason (just cuz?), now Ferguson is hurt. Let's see how this turns out.
---------------------------------
So far, so good. 8th inning down. Here's the 9th. Who thinks Jansen comes in?
Tatis
Machado
Moreland
in the 9th
