Sounds like Kuz is lighting it up in practice. Hope he gets on one of those lengthy runs heading into the playoffs. |

Really liked how Vogel used Kuzma this year instead of just giving him 6th man minutes a game to just only be a scorer, this year Kuzma finally started developing into a winning type of player, especially when he isn't scoring he can still effect the game with his defense, rebounding, and has shown passing skills.
Sooner rather than later, Vogel has to make Kuzma a full-time starter imo even if that means AD has to play the 5, which with only 8 regular season games remaining should be the optimal line-up going forward during the playoffs. Crazy thing is that if Kuzma is putting up the offensive numbers of his 2 seasons to go along with his improved defense this year, you are looking at an All-Star caliber player that is looking at a max or near a max level deal. Going to be very interesting what Pelinka will be doing once Kuzma hits RFA in 2021. |

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said that Kuzma has been one of the team’s best players since practices restarted.
“He’s had a couple of stretches where he’s dominated the floor and it’s been really encouraging to see,” Vogel told reporters on his daily Zoom call. “He had some inconsistency with the beginning of our season because he dealt with three different injuries that really prohibited him from getting his legs under him.
“The shot-making wasn’t always there, but it’s been there at a very high level during this restart, and we’re very encouraged and excited about what having a real training camp, or a healthy training camp could mean for him,” Vogel continued. “Hopefully that leads to an increased role and gives us that boost that we’re looking for.”
Vogel also noted that Kuzma went 9-10 from the field during the Lakers’ scrimmage on Monday.

Thanks Drae. What Vogel said about him having 3 different injuries sheds light on the possibility of why he was apparently underperforming. He doesn't talk about his injuries and just takes the criticism, just like when his scoring fell off a cliff last season. There were whispers of an injury but we never heard what it was. |

Looking forward to seeing how Kuz looks tomorrow. I’d think he will get quite a few minutes with Morris out and presumably small minutes for AD and Lebron. Would love to see some of the hot shooting he’s purportedly bringing to the Orlando practices. |

Im all for rooting and hoping for the best with Kuz but realistically he's consistently been inconsistent dating all the way back to high school. He's also always been good at talking and saying the right things but he's still just young enough to hopefully become consistent on a full time (or at least near full time) basis. When Kuz has those strong stretches where he's draining shots at a decent rate and trying on defense this team goes up another entire level without question and we def. need that without Bradley or Morris (until he clears quarantine at least).
Encouraging hearing he's been tearing it up in practice, it would be nice to see him go on an Ariza like Playoff run from deep! We're the clear cut favorites imo if that happened. |

Would be nice if Kuzma proves to be our reliable 3rd option so we won’t have to trade him in a deal for Buddy Hield or another player that can be the 3rd scorer. would love to see Kuzma in a Laker uniform for a long time if .. he proves to be our 3rd guy. |

If Kuzma plays at least 60% of what he did today consistently, he'll be deadly. Imagine Kuz and Waiters coming off the bench and scoring combined 30ish points a game.
He mentioned (1) actually getting some time off to practice unlike last summer and (2) tweaking his shot a bit too during the quarantine.
I don't see Kuz being this great each time out, but again, just at least 60-75% of what he was today is all we're asking for. |

as long as he catches and shoots and rebounds ill be happy. When he tries to create or do anything else its a disaster |

More encouraging than the shot is his vastly improved perimeter D. Don’t think we can count on his shot consistently during the playoffs when the pressure is ramped up to an insane degree, but the effort on D and the boards would do a lot to keep him on the floor even on nights when the shot just isn’t there. But it was damn nice to see him swishing threes again yesterday. |

Kuzma was hurt in the off season. No training camp really affected him. Plus he plays behind LeBron and AD. In big games, or when our stars were out due to load management, Kuz’s game would clearly pick up. He started rebounding and defending at a high level towards the end. So much that people such as Bill Simmons or JVG would comment on good Kuzma’s defense was.
Kuzma has the rare ability to raise his game when the stakes are higher. I remember when he was in the worst slump of his young career. We were losing in the 4th quarter vs the Pelicans. Every time we needed a big shot and LeBron passed him the ball, it was automatic. He didn’t want to lose to his ex-teammates. To be in the worst point of your career, but to have the incredible talent and focus to will your team to victory, is a sign of a really good player.
If Kuz wasn’tt on the Lakers, he would be an All-Star the very next season. Just like BI and just like DLO before him. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant |

"IF" this Kuz (the one we hoped for and/or expected) shows up, we will be a VERY difficult team to beat. His improved play (on BOTH sides of the court) changes the entire dynamics of the team. GO KUZ! |

i noticed between first and second scrim, he was more successful in catch'n'shoot situations or off screens with a known step ahead of defender.
1st scrim a lot more dribbling and he looked half a step too fast for himself. Maybe just returning excitement, but he's always looked that way.
We've all seen him create successfully, he's not a fan fav for no reason. But not having "his spots" is also going to be his curse because he won't develop efficiency fast enough for this league on our team (a winning team).
coaching staff needs todo better with his development. Always mentioning "more minutes" is also the effect of him not feeling his current minutes have a purpose. Kid needs some solid direction, a couple plays and a one or two specific spots to measure his development when alongside LB and AD. _________________ KOBE!!! |

Great game by Kuzma, no terrible midrange jumpers, just 3s and defense. Really got after Kawhi when told to guard him without any help |
