As nicknamed, somewhat ironically - or laughably - by Celtics broadcaster Johnny Most, the Lakers’ own “Roughhouse” Rudy LaRusso. Ironically of course because no team was more “roughhouse” than the C’s.
Averaged double figures in points and rebounds three consecutive seasons in the early 60s, and 15.6 and 9.4 for his career.
LaRusso was a terrific all-around player and good perimeter shooter. He was also the enforcer watching the backs of Baylor and West.
His most famous fight came in 1966 at Madison Square Garden when he and the Knicks’ Willis Reed got tangled up in a scrum under the basket and traded elbows, then punches. Then Reed decided he was mad, and took out half the Lakers’ squad by himself. The police had to invade the floor and restore order. Just another night in Fun City...

Kermit Washington-
the pf they lacked in the ‘77 playoffs when they couldn’t guard Maurice Lucas. They had the best record and got swept by the eventual champs. Washington was suspended and traded after he punched Rudy T.
Earl Tatum
Norm Nixon-
Imo they beat the C’s in ‘84 with him. About to go up 2-0 in Boston, instead of Worthy struggling to bring the ball up court before throwing the game away, Nixon would have been there to handle the ball.
Eddie Jones / Eldon Campbell
Immediately after their trade, the 10 game win streak was over, J.R. Reid sucked, Glenn Rice underwhelmed, a team I thought could compete for a ring got swept, and Rambis was fired.

Many choices to select from, but these two guys were very good college players & I thought we got steals when drafted.
Earl Tatum & Kenny Carr, they both got buried on the bench & NEVER made the impact I thought they would even when leaving the Lakers. I’m about to go on YouTube right now & check out their college & pro highlights now. EDIT: Don’t bother there are no highlights of either WOW!
PS: I really hope the season continues cause we have a good chance to win it all now. AB would be missed but, with a rested AD & LBJ & Vogel hopefully figuring out a 9-10 man rotation it would be nice. Remember players defense will win it so with all the rest you got give it your all now especially since next season will start a.s.a.p.

Was John Celistand any good? I was only 10 years old when he was with the Lakers.
Well, you know how we like to match super stars with prospects. For example, Doug Christie was the next Pippen. LOL! Ivica was the next Marc Gasol. We sorta envisioned Gary Payton type with Celistand. But nothing special ever happened. He was just a borderline 12th guy/Injured reserve type player while he was here.
Sedale Threatt.
After Magic's devastating retirement, Sedale stepped into the void starting all 82 games for the next 2 seasons putting up a career highs of 15 / 7 in about 36 mpg while being poised and professional.
Chris Mihm is a forgotten Laker who we had high hopes for but ended up with a major injury that ruined his career.
Mihm was pretty good until he got hurt. Pretty athletic. Had a decent jump shot. I remember the opening night of the 2004-05 season, he straight up killed the Nuggets. _________________ Good Laker book I recommend, "The Biggest What-If's in Lakers History" http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-What-Ifs-Angeles-History-ebook/dp/B00BB3OEC0

Sedale ‘The Thief’ Threatt! Can’t believe no one mentioned him yet. He was one of Chick’s faves.
I think we're all defining "Forgotten" differently. LOL! Sedale ain't forgotten. He's one of my favorite lakers of all time. Forgotten to me is someone like Benoit Benjamin. This Clipper great was once a Laker. LOL!
Aaron McKee - Way past his prime when he came here.
Vlade Divac (2nd run with us) - Way way past his prime when he returned to us. One of the most underrated Worst free agent Reacquisitions in recent memory
Brian Grant - Before there was Luol Deng, there was Brian Grant. And it was almost as painful.

Indeed. And we still made the playoffs those two seasons. Great choice.
Forever a Laker in my book.

Why did we want Brian Grant in the Shaq trade? Just to match salary? Should have asked for Udonis Haslem instead. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
