That’s what I was saying. Everyone and their moms shat on it though. |
It’s not easy to explain to people but now that they’ve seen it in action how could anyone want to keep the FT parade that ends most games? |
This was an all star game. They still let a lot of calls go. Kinda scary actually. This place would be in a bad mood if AD tweaked his back or something. Whether it's elam or traditional clock, you could still get blow-outs and free throw parade games. |
The nature of the format essentially eliminates the incentive to intentionally foul at the end of games (which is exactly why it didn’t happen in this game). Yeah it would have been unfortunate for someone to get hurt at an All Star Game but are we really arguing against defense and intensity at the end of NBA games? |
I dunno, I saw some free throws, the game ended with free throws. And the refs let some calls go, so there could have been more free throws if it wasn't an all-star game. Interesting though and if the NBA were to ever implement it in real games, what would be an ideal number to set that target score? Today was a tribute to Kobe, so they did 24, but I wonder what would be ideal. I haven't followed or watch enough Elam games to get a feel that it does promote less free throws. |

Kinda feel bad for Giannis and his charity. Inside the NBA was claiming Giannis was trying too hard to win the MVP, but he was forced to take over because his team probably would have lost the 2nd quarter as well. But Giannis has said multiple times that he only wanted to win, and he didn't care about the award.
Giannis might hold a (not too serious) grudge against LeBron now, since he lost to him twice in All Star weekend. |
who cares. if i havent learned anything from dealing with stupid women in my life i have learned that you cant change somebody's mind. they will stay if they want or be on the move. same thing with these ball playing dudes. |
I wasn't thinking about free agency at all if that's what you were implying. I'm thinking about the possibility that we'll see him in the finals and how he'll be extra motivated. |

Harden has been solid defensively in the post for years now. He’s got the body type for that. He still struggles on the outside though. |

Kawhi is basically Kobe. Not as flashy, but very similar. |
A bootleg version (which is still pretty damn good). _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Damn, I wasn't a big fan of the change beyond it being a cool tribute to Kobe but it ended up being easily one of the best all star games ever for sure.
I hope they keep this change, I went in expecting to watch a few minutes here and there and the last half of the 4th like usual but I ended up watching the entire thing. |

Kawhi’s post game:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=F5cuJzGOfMw
@1:35 talks how Vogel drew plays for him and how LeBron’s vision was able to find him for open shots.
@2:50 talks about Kobe.
@4:20 talks what it was like playing with LeBron and AD on the same team. _________________ Tacos |

Another thing y'all, LeBron's team had 124 going into the 4th and needed 33 points (Kobe's high school number) to win the game. So no matter which team scored their amount to win the game; 33 or 24, both was dedicated to commemorate the late great Kobe Bryant. Divine intervention.

I just had the thought could he be the next Kobe and then I'm like (bleep) that guy he can't win another title on the wrong team. |

Nobody who load manages and takes so many games off should be compared to Kobe Bryant in my opinion. |

Amazing All-Star game. I would tweak it to make sure it doesn't end with a FT but outside of that, it was damn good.
Team Giannis was pretty bad on offense down the stretch though. |

But I don't need Shaq's advice on how to play hurt. I've played with IVs before, during and after games. I've played with a broken hand, a sprained ankle, a torn shoulder, a fractured tooth, a severed lip, and a knee the size of a softball. I don't miss 15 games because of a toe injury that everybody knows wasn't that serious in the first place.
GRAY: Kobe, Shaq said if you didn't like what he had to say you can opt out and leave next season. Will you leave the Lakers?
BRYANT: I won't make that decision until the end of the season. I told Shaq last year that I was planning on opting out. He knew before anyone. I told him out of respect for what we have been through together. I thought he should be the first to know. The fact that he acts like this is such a big shock is a mystery to me. If leaving the Lakers at the end of the season is what I decide, a major reason for that will be Shaq's childlike selfishness and jealousy. |

It would have better honor for Kobe if the all star trophy has a Kobe silhouette or something Kobe related rather than just a name. Cause that trophy is just too plain. |
