Offensively, as an all around player, he is probably 2nd behind Durant. Defensively, he's probably bottom 3 on this list for his age, although I would argue that might have more to do with where he plays.
Also, every season we've watched him, he has shown improvement once January/February comes around. If that stays true to form this year, we haven't seen the best of BI yet this year. That said, he also seems to get injured every year around that time, so we'll see about that too. |
The APG for Ingram, George and Giannis jump out, especially for successful scorers. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

BI has shown passing chops. Remember point BI?
Unfortunately, with Magic's goading, they made BI such a compartmentalized player.
"Be a 20+ppg scorer now."
"Be a point BI now."
BI has so many more tools than to be a one trick pony. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I’m expecting a big finish and low seed playoffs if he can stay healthy. |

They're getting Zion back (possibly) Thursday! I can see this team making a playoff push. Lonzo has made significant strides from where he was at the beginning of the season. Ingrams scoring seems like it will always be there. Excited to see how they play with a strong inside scoring presence. |

I’m sad, (bleep) let go of this guy way too soon. Imagine trading in Kobe before he started balling out. No Jerry to say No |

A Jerry we COULD have had, if Magic took his own advice and Jeanie wasn't so petty. But now we don't have him OR Ryan. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

He was the best young player we had since Kobe, but there's no way he would have thrived in this environment, especially in the age of social media and twitter. At least Kobe came off the bench and played with multiple all-stars in his first 2-3 seasons (not to mention the most dominant player to ever play this game in Shaq). BI on the other hand was expected to be Durant from day 1, despite weighing 20 pounds less and not having the strength to overpower players 5-10 inches smaller than him. |

Ingram was terrible to bad until this season in which he started taking and making more 3s on another team. The Lakers were crap on youth development, admittedly, but Durant by year two was good and by season three he was a monster. BI never should've been expected or pushed to be the next Durant, but if he shot like this last season he might still be a Laker. _________________ Under New Management |

BI put up historic numbers for his age group starting from year 2. Here's the list of 20 year players who averaged at least 16-5-4 @ 20 sans Luka: https://i.imgur.com/QUvc5bm.jpg - his all around game was always going to be on point.
Those projections dropped off or faltered in year 3 due to injuries and adjusting to Lebron's playstyle, but he more than picked it up after the all-star break. He essentially played the same way to start the Pelicans season, so the argument that people didn't see this coming doesn't make sense to me. The blood clot issue made it seem like those post-ASB numbers weren't going to be replicated, but he did just that.
The problem is Griff wasn't stupid enough to trade us AD without any package that included BI. It worked out for both teams, but Pelicans have a competent GM, so that makes things difficult for us to retain some talent level. Luckily Kuz is starting to shine.

Both BI and Russell were putting up solid and very impressive numbers for their age group while they were Lakers.
Those acting like they weren't good or showing this kind of promise till they left the Lakers are fooling themselves. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

BI on the other hand was expected to be Durant from day 1, despite weighing 20 pounds less and not having the strength to overpower players 5-10 inches smaller than him. |
Ingram was terrible to bad until this season in which he started taking and making more 3s on another team. The Lakers were crap on youth development, admittedly, but Durant by year two was good and by season three he was a monster. BI never should've been expected or pushed to be the next Durant, but if he shot like this last season he might still be a Laker. |

Brandon Ingram |
Uh huh... Still.. ??? |
He became a positive BPM player in year four by taking and making more 3s. Before then he was terrible to bad, an empty stats player because his offensive impact wasn't sufficiently efficient and he's a poor defender. _________________ Under New Management |

Those acting like they weren't good or showing this kind of promise till they left the Lakers are fooling themselves. |

I appreciate that data point, but even with the artificial cutoff he's lagging behind in win shares and I imagine if you used BPM instead of WS as a sorting stat it would look a lot uglier. And I think a significant reason for that is because BI is quite bad at defense however counterintuitive that may seem given his wingspan. I'd still draft Simmons over BI because Simmons defends at a near elite level and is still a positive offensive player despite his lack of improvement while BI has improved immensely on offense while remaining a mediocre defender. _________________ Under New Management |
