The Los Angeles Lakers will pack up their bags in Miami on Saturday and fly to Atlanta for the third leg of their five-game road trip Sunday, but the team plane will be missing some precious cargo. LeBron James chartered a flight of his own on L.A.'s off day to fly to Columbus, Ohio, to see son LeBron James Jr.'s Sierra Canyon High School play his alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary.

I notice that Lebron James' shooting stroke has changed.
His shooting arm position is more straight now and the flick of the wrist is more smooth like AD and KCP.
Compare his stroke on this two games vs heat this season, and you will see the difference.
I hope it works out for him. He's shooting over 36% from 3 this year. Last 3 games were 4/8, 1/6, 6/8 so if he can become a 40% 3 point shooter ...
Anyway I think Lebron's just brought over another Kevin Love Cleveland play (according to the people replying on Twitter anyway) that he now runs with AD and Danny Green
Clip in link:
Lakers have a pet play that they like to go to and ran it twice in a row down the stretch. They put AD in the corner and have Danny Green come set a screen to get AD going middle while LeBron holds the ball at the top. Tough "pick your poison" no matter how you defend it.
This is kinda hard to stop with AD cutting strong to the hoop like that against a smaller defender and DG positioning for a corner 3. The big man defender don't know either to help to defend AD or to go to defend the corner 3 from DG.
Very nice if you switch like in one of those it gave dg a open 3 and he missed it but AD has chance to get offensive rebound against the smaller man. If you don’t switch it could give an open dunk to AD
I seen LeBron get a few open dunks and layups while going to the basket. And I have seen a few of these more than usual.
This must be because the defense wants to stay with AD. I wonder if the defense has more fear of AD or LeBron.
AD actually doesn’t get double teamed unless he is hot. Defenses send multiple players from the start on LeBron. Teams actually should double AD more because he makes them pay regularly for leaving him for Bron.
LeBron James, speaking with @Rachel__Nichols at halftime of his son’s game in Ohio twice mentioned how he plans to play Sunday against Atlanta. So the elbow, just as he described it last night, appears to be fine
Yeah I saw that. LeBron is always going to say he wants to play, particularly after last season, he specifically said as much (he said he does not want to miss a game this season). But that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea and that he’s going to actually always play. *If ever* there was a perfect game to skip after injuring his elbow ATL is it lol
How about they both play and we keep their minutes under 30?
No way TOR wins last year without KD and Klay and Boogie going down...only reason why load management is even a phrase. No reason to give away games when the comp is this good. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

Yeah it's better for us to just keep a great record and give them a week off later on or something.
Let them play, blow Atlanta out, keep the minutes down

These players are making north of 25 to 35M...I think they should be able to play 30 minutes a night. Why we acting like the best athletes in the world cant use their bodies for 30 minutes with rests every other night.
Save the legs in practice. Play the games people pay top $ for. It's not like this is a new thing. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

It's not about not being able to do it, it's more about being able to scratch out a bit more performance come playoff time with rested bodies than non-rested bodies.
Remember when the Warriors went 73-9 in the regular season but was a bit fatigued in the playoffs?
This is why I don’t like the mentality of them manning up. We’re not talking any regular athlete. Bron had a grade 2 tear last year and rushed back. Before that he played all 82 games in his last year in Cleaveland and led a roster with no Ky and hardly Love to the Finals for the EIGHTH straight year.
Now we got him running point at 35...something he did at 18 for like two weeks on his rookie year.
Give him Elmers headband and tell him to glue his ass and his sore elbow to a seat tomorrow.

I understand the attempted logic...I just dont agree. If your guy legitimately cant go then I would be in favor of a 2 or 3 game minimum DL to end all the load management crap or make the player prorate his contract down so he can legitimately load manage and put a schedule out before the season for games he wont play.
The Bulls went 72-10...won it all...no load management
The Lakers went 67-15...won it all...no load management
Traditional load management has been blowout the opponent or win your conference going away and then rest up for a run...been working fine for decades across all sports.
In season LM is relatively new and only a thing because KL won last year and people are giving more credit to that imo than historic untimely injuries ala Pat Riley having a pre-Finals Training Camp.
KL is a great player...just dont like that he gets insane money and can be a healthy scratch in hope that he's strong for the playoffs...think it sucks for the customers and integrity of the game.
*not saying you have the attempted logic...just that it is an attempt at logic in general when the traditional logic of LM by winning big and resting, curbing practice and resting, winning the conference early and resting has been proven to work for decades. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

Mavs came back down 23 and ended up losing in OT...that one's gonna leave a mark. Hope Luka gets back faster than expected. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

I remember before he was playing for the lakers, he took games off to rest some minor injuries like sprain finger, cramps, and we made a joke out of it, lecramp. Etc. Kobe was playing 48 minutes in 2012 before he torn his Achilles, and Kobe was definitely a guy who was to play every single minute, especially for road games.
Lebron has the same mentality now, and I am glad. I think the older he got, the more he treasures the time he has on the court

Bronny James made his Ohio debut Saturday, and hit the go-ahead shot in the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers’ 59-56 victory over the St. Vincent-St. Mary Irish. Sierra Canyon is 8-0.
The team is built to support him James. Davis is playing incredible but he needs James just as much as James needs him. Historically all of James’ teams struggle without him because he is the focal point and he controls the ball.
No team can assume they will win in the NBA. Load management didn’t work too well for the Clips tonight against the Bulls.
Lakers need James on the floor. Simple as that.

Yep. Like how the 3peat Lakers were built around Shaq.
I believe the Lakers had a decent record when Kobe sat and a poor one when Shaq sat.
