Big Nights from Cacok and Hearn Not Enough in Salt Lake City
SBL falls to SLC Stars 113 - 100
Quote:
The South Bay Lakers failed to win on the second night of their latest back-to-back as they lost to the Salt Lake City Stars, 113-100, on Thursday night. Reggie Hearn scored a season-high 22 points and Devontae Cacok grabbed his eighth double-double, but it wasn’t enough for South Bay (5-5) to grab the win. Trevon Bluiett led the Stars (7-2) with 29 points off the bench.
Andre Ingram’s two free throws with 1.3 seconds left sealed the victory for South Bay!

The South Bay Lakers won their fifth consecutive home game as they beat the Santa Cruz Warriors, 128-124, on Tuesday night.
Gary Payton II scored a season-high 30 points along with 10 assists, seven rebounds, three steals and one block as South Bay improved to 7-5 on the year.
Jeremy Pargo finished with 37 points for the Warriors (6-8) in the loss.
*GPII (the Mitten) - 30 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block
*Devontae Cacok - 21 points and 11 rebounds for his 10th double-double
*Travis Wear - 19 points, six rebounds and three assists
*Zach Norvell Jr. - 16 points, six assists
*Reggie Hearn - 11 points
*Kostas Antetokounmpo - 10 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks
*Andre Ingram - 10 points
The Lakers have evidently liked what they’ve seen from Devontae Cacok in South Bay, and decided to lock him in on a two-way contract, cutting Zach Norvell Jr. in the process.
South Bay Lakers have upcoming home stand advantage

The South Bay Lakers battled back from a 13-point deficit, but ultimately fell short as they lost to the Stockton Kings, 134-127, on Sunday night. Gary Payton II tallied his fourth consecutive double-double for the Lakers (8-6) with 25 points and 10 assists. Isaiah Pineiro led the Kings (9-5) with a 24-point, 16-rebound double-double.
These scores in G-League are ridiculous Bunch of guys trying to inflate their stats to get a call up.
Our boy THT showing some NBA skills.
Can Cacok play the wing defensively in the NBA? Listed as 6'7", 240. If he has the feet to stay in front of wings he might be what the doctor ordered. I like his motor.
– The South Bay Lakers lost their opening game of the MGM Resorts Winter Showcase, as they fell to the Lakeland Magic, 119-103, on Thursday afternoon.
Gary Payton II recorded his 13th double-double of the season for South Bay (8-8) with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Amile Jefferson led the Magic (9-7) with 22 points and 15 rebounds.
It's irritating as hell that they haven't at least given him a run. He's good on defense, can handle the ball well, can pass well, can playmake and drive … the only thing he's a bit iffy on at the moment is shooting but I don't think our team's shooting overall could get any worse
