1)He doesn't try to do too much, plays within the offense.
2)He can hit open 3s AND he can penetrate, not a 1-dimensional player so you have to respect both facets.
3)Plays hard nosed defense. He's an unintentional irritant, possibly because players don't want to get clamped down by someone that looks like you'd call when your computer has a virus. |
I was hoping that he could improve his 3pt shooting over the summer. If he did that, he’d have a long tenure in the NBA. |

Imagine if Caruso started getting the respect calls.
He gets fouled at least 3 times a game where it’s not called and he had that defensive possession where he bottled up Trae and got called for a BS blocking foul. |

Yeah man. His defense is great, but would be even better if he got the respect that guys like Pat Bev get from refs. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

His development makes me feel a little better regarding all the youth that we've exiled. |

On the ENTIRE SEASON, there has been 1 Laker guard who has flash cut to the basket.
Guess who?
Alex Caruso
There have been 3 Laker guards who have screen cut all year.
Caruso has 3 while KCP and Bradley combined have 2.

Caruso is the perfect example of a person who understand the game %100
Not enough natural talent but he plays great as far as moving the ball, defending, TAKING the open 3, etc |

Quote: | Last week, Frank Vogel called @ACFresh21 a “special” defensive player. Caruso is currently posting a riduclous 94.7 defensive rating, which tops LAL and is 2nd in the NBA for players averaging at least 20 mpg in 7 games or more (to Daniel Theis). |

Man, I wish he was at least at the league average from 3. Would be competing for the starting spot if he did. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

He was making multiple defensive/switches/efforts to contest shots in the 4th quarter effectively.
This is why he plays and is still in Los Angeles while more heralded players play in New Orleans. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
