Jackson is meh but guarantee Cacock is as good as gone, mistake waiving him. If we need a replacement but only Kostas is available to call up. Guess Manimal or Speights are still in play though just have to cut DMC or Daniels. |

The Celtics really had no choice but to sign Brown to a large contract. |
He's a restricted FA in 2020... just like NO is waiting to see BI and his health, Boston could have waited to see how JB developed and where his game is at. Also would have been a very tradable player come deadline but Boston is obiovusly banking on him emerging as a star.
Crazy how they went from the threat to getting every star from PG to Butler to AD, to ending up with Kemba at max, Hayward at max, Brown at near max, Smart on a big deal, and Tatum getting maxed next.. meanwhile, those picks that once seemed super promising ain't amounted too much and doesn't seem like they will with all those protections.
IMO this is why when you can get a guy like AD, you get a guy like AD. |

I would be surprised if a team used an active NBA roster spot on Cacok at this stage. There are more established players out there for the minimum. As for two-ways, according to the site below, there are four available spots, one at each of Brooklyn, Chicago, New York and Phoenix. If you look at the list, you'll see it's very Guard / Forward heavy. Bigs aren't a developmental priority. It's highly likely that Cacok will be with SBL this season, at least to start. It's possible he might get a better paying job overseas though.
With the ball handling he displayed to go with his shooting, Norvell would have definitely been picked up if LA had waived him.

Disappointing to waive Cacok. I thought he showed that he’ll stick in the nba as an energy guy, even if he’s a bit undersized. |

As long as McGee and Howard are able to play, there aren't going to be minutes for him.
They are already unbalanced towards guards and going the other direction and being unbalanced with players that need to be close to the basket isn't really improvement. |

I don't think it's a huge loss at this point. We have a pretty jammed big man rotation as it is, and when he had to go up against non-G League level bigs (DeAndre Jordan) he get eviscerated at times. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor has the Lakers as his #1 power ranking team.
Quote: | There’s been so much focus on how depth, durability, and drama could derail the Lakers’ season, but their best-case scenario is overwhelming. News flash: LeBron James and Anthony Davis—two top-five stars with synergistic skills—play on the same team now. These two have never played with anyone like each other. It isn’t an exaggeration to say they could compose the greatest pick-and-roll duo the NBA has ever seen. |
Quote: | This team will go as far as LeBron’s and Davis’s health takes them. AD always seems to be dealing with some injury, and LeBron is almost 35 and has played 56,284 minutes in his career, which is more than any player ever through their first 16 years, including the playoffs. Whatever doubts there are about James’s durability are also the ones that make this season so interesting, and potentially historic for LeBron. Doubt once fueled Michael Jordan to a three-peat after he returned to basketball, and now LeBron is facing similar questions about his future. LeBron is ready for revenge, but his body will need to handle the burden as rising stars leading new contending teams come for his crown. |

It's crazy how much the modern NBA game is closely tied with durability/health and talent.
On paper, the Warriors talent dwarfed the Raptors. But successive injuries to KD and Klay made that margin disappear completely.
The 82 game season seems like several marathons. I would not get too concerned about regular season wins. Just get to the playoffs healthy and a healthy LBJ and AD will be a nightmare for other teams. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Who would you have cut from the team?
Boogie's 3.5m would be a big trade piece.
Troy Daniels (who shot lights out in preseason from 3)?
Dudley? Who will assume the emeritus Rick Fox chair for the Lakers (and many young players have praised him for his mentorship)?
Norvell? Who lit it up at the end of preseason?
Baby Giannis? Obviously no.
How much time would Cacok have realistically played? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Trust me yinoma I know what you are saying.. I struggled with that question...I just didn't want to lose a you g guy who can play both front court spots. |

But let's be honest.
PF depth chart: AD/Kuz/LBJ
C depth chart: JAV/Dwight/AD
Where is Cacok going to play?
Now, if he could stretch the floor, I could see a compelling argument to cut someone in favor of him, but he's not that type of player. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I certainly hope Cacok finds a home . . . but a 6'7" PF-C not named Draymond or Zion is going to have a tough time earning minutes in the NBA. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Worst case scenario, if a non-shooting, hustle 6'6/6'7 guy is needed, you have a guy like Faried out there. But yeah, I don't see how Cacok would play many minutes on this Lakers team barring catastrophic injuries. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

There's an argument for dumping Boogie, because we'll have a pretty tough time making any deals of value with our empty war chest of picks, but I get it. I really liked Cacok and think he'll be a very solid energy big. His upside is an end of the rotation player, but it's still nice to have those guys. I really hope he clears waivers. |

On Dec. 15th:
Trade Pope, Horton-Tucker, Cousins, and picks for Iguodala.
Does Pope have a no-trade clause? _________________ A creative scorer, a wing defender, and a shooter. |

Then he'd only agree to be sent to Memphis if he was buried on the bench on the Lakers, out of the rotation. That's doable.
